Strays of the Ruins. (Stray dog/cat RP, open & accepting)

Risto tugged free from the mutant's grip, his hind paw stuck in its mouth. Spitting, he rolled away from its lung and scraped his claws in its eyes to distract it for a moment, before ducking underneath its belly and delivering a few scratches to it. A sudden twig snap made Risto jerk his head, but before he could focus his attention back on his opponent, a mutant toppled him over and flipped him onto his back. Stunned for a moment, the feline felt the mutant attach its claws onto his sides, pinning him down as it tried to rip his neck open. Risto twisted his neck away from its jaws, wriggling in attempt to get free.

Suddenly, the mutant released its grip on the feline and dashed away. Confused, the feline slowly rose to his paws and glanced around. "Teegan?" He muttered, seeing that the fae was darting over to them. Before he could say anything else, Teegan snapped at him before crawling away. Glancing wary at Vicci, he followed the canine and found himself with Gavroche and Jip.

"Ugh. You had to bring the pup." Risto muttered under his breath, glaring at the Gavroche. As he turned to speak with Teegan, the fae was already gone, sprinting back to distract the mutants. Turning back to the group, he stared sulkily at the pup, before at Jip. Before he could even move, the Basenji flicked his tail and began to lead the group back to the shore. Tipping his head to one side, he noticed there was a gash on Teegan's side, and both the canines had scratches or something on their body. Deciding to keep his mouth shut, he followed after Vicci, aware of the snarls and yelps coming from the forest.

Annoyed by the awkward silence that hung in the air, he turned to Jip, his eyes filled with confusion. "Well?" he demanded. "What happened here?" He inquired, gesturing towards the dried blood on the shore.

Gavroche shot a glare at the cat over his shoulder, but kept prancing onward, keeping silent. He held his head and tail high as he trotted with the group across the shore. "Hmph, why do you care what happened here. You were too busy runnin' off wif the other cat to notice they might've needed you. Selfish fish-brain." The pup snapped with a growl, not bothering to glance at Risto as he spoke.

She sneered at the pup's words, but kept silent to let the other cat answer. She let her eyes scan the blood-soaked shore, head tilting slightly as she looked around. She guess mutants right away, not thinking that anybody else would have even bothered to attack the group.

"Says the pup who's nothing but a big load of useless dung." Risto retorted, glaring up ahead at Gavroche. "Besides, I wasn't even talking to you. Nobody would want to talk to a brat like you." He muttered, his ear twitching as he focused his attention on his paws. Sudden pawsteps made the feline look up, and he saw Dusty bounding over to them.

"Oh, great, you found them." Dusty nodded to Jip and the pup. The brute didn't seem excited or angry to see them, but who would? Dusty glanced around, uncertainty in his eyes. "Oh...where's Teegan and Xizion?"

"Teegan went to find her by herself." Risto muttered, not bothering to look at the canine. He felt surprise spark from Dusty. "She can handle the mutants herself, dung-butt." Risto snapped, glaring sideways.

Dusty shrugged and began to escort the group towards a strange tunnel he had never seen. Hesitating, the feline cautiously wriggled through the tunnel and out, shaking his pelt as he glanced around. Everyone was here except for Teegan and Xizon, of course. Glancing at Flak, he ignored the brute and backed away from the tunnel to allow the rest to pass through.

cara awoke ristos complaining outside and she watched as they came thriough the tunnel she got up and padded up to jip "hello"she said tail wagging as she was happy to see her one friend in the pack

marie padded towards the entrance "wheres the sheperd?" she asked confused that they were missing a member of the group

Dusty turned towards Marie, opening his mouth to speak when Risto barged in, his tail-tip twitching.

"Why would you care anyway?" the feline spat, glaring at the wolf.

Dusty dipped his head towards the wolf. "She coming--I hope she's coming. She's still trying to find Xizon though." He explained, roughly pricking his claws into Risto's tail. He ignored the feline's hissing as Risto tugged free, before settling down near the tunnel. Dusty nodded apologetically to the wolf, before heading out of the tunnel again.

glancing at risto marie replied "i care because flak here put me in charge of finding a safe spot for everyone" she snapped "isnt that right flak." marie then nodded at dusty saying she had nothing against him

Gavroche's lower eyelid twitched in irritation and he spun around, halting in his tracks to face Risto. "Oh, yeah!?" He barked, snarling, his golden fur bristling upright. "I don't even know why we came to get you, you bloody idiot! It's not like we need some dumb cat. I don't get why they didn't just kill you earlier. It would've saved us a Hell of a lot of trouble!" The pup barked, baring his sharp puppy teeth. His lack of a verbal filter left him careless of what he said, obviously. Before he could shout another word, Dusty came bounding over. "Finally..." He muttered quietly, marching over to the big tan dog. Flicking his tail and holding his head high smugly, he followed them to the cave without another word.




   Flak flicked his ears forward, rising to his paws once he noticed Dusty leading Gavroche, Jip, and both cats back. He trotted over to greet them, tail swaying slowly. "There you are. Where the Hell have you two been?" He asked, trying to swallow the growl of annoyance that began to creep up his throat. He shook his head, shrugging it off and glancing at Jip. "Where's Teegan?" He quickly questioned in concern, glancing around. His large ears flicked forward as Dusty explained, and he nodded. Lowering himself back to his haunches, he shot a glare at Risto, rolling his eyes at the feline's complaining, then nodded at Marie to confirm what she had said.

Vicci stopped when they entered the tunnel, eyes still curiously looking around. They settled on the wolf soon enough, and she narrowed her eyes. She managed to keep back a 'What is she doing here' and instead move somewhere to the back, where she could lick a few of her small wounds and sulk silently, all the while worried for Xizon. She did shift uncomfortably at the wolf's next words, though, and now she couldn't hold back the hiss that came out. She ignored Flak's question, only giving him a barely visible shrug.

Said dog was still walking about the forest, clumsy paws trampling the sticks and crushing them. Her ears perked when she finally decided to call once more. "Vicci?" She yelled, raising her head as her eyes surveyed the empty area. She sighed, posture slumping. Where could that dull feline had gone? She moved to an area where there was two different feline scents here, and she realized one of them as Vicci's. But where was she? She called out once again, eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
