A half smile crept across Billy's face at her response and he sat up more in the chair. Before he could speak, the loud hoofsteps of a few approaching horses was audible outside, along with the muffled voices of some men. "Looks like my time just ran out," he muttered casually, eyeing the front door with a smirk. He quickly stood up and snatched his leather coat from the table. "You go n' tack up that mare 'a yer's. We best be gettin' out of here quickly." He spoke fast, adjusting his Stetson on his head and grabbing the shotgun he had previously dropped off the floor, swinging it over his shoulder with its strap. "Do it right quick and I'll meet you around the back. Now go on, no time for dilly-dallyin'." He motioned towards the back door with his hand and quickly slunk out of it, not allowing a second of time for her to respond.
