Charlie pursed her lips at Jake's tone, she didn't usually get upset by little things like that, but her eyes flashed with hurt. She nodded her head and urged Mouse into a gallop, focusing on the gentle rhythm of the mare's hooves. She turned back "Give her one day's rest, trust me. She'll need it." She called over her shoulder, her voice slightly shaking.

Jake sighed and swung up onto Pistol, quickly riding after her. His legs gripped to Pistol's bare barrel as rode, his eyes narrowed as he'd left his hat at the camp. He pulled Pistol to a stop in the middle of nowhere. He breathed deeply as he leaned over his horses neck. He shook his head and leaned back, laying down completely. He was really stressing out right now. He hopped down, taking one of the reins in his hand before pulling out his gun. He teeth ground together before quickly taking a few angry shots at a cactus like plant on the ground. He took in a deep breath as he put his gun away and nodded. "Alright." He said and rode back towards the camp. "Sorry about that."

Spirit watched as they rode away. She saw a hat was left behind, and she put her face under it. Her tail was lightly wagging. She lifted her head, making it look like she was a Cow-Dog. She woofed as Pistol and Jake approached.

Gunner lighted his head as the stranger -Removed by Moderator- began nosing through Jake's things. He jumped up and snarled as he walked towards Jake's saddle. "Hey! What do you think you're doing with my mans hat?" He barked at her. As Jake and Pistol returned, he looked over at his hat on the stray. "Ahh hell." He said and quickly bent to pick it up. "That was my new hat." He said and began to wipe it off. "Gunner, sit." He said calmly as he walked towards the water. The pup quickly complied, sitting down and dropping his snarl. Pistol snorted and looked at the stray. "He just takes some gettin' used to, is all." He nodded to her before walking towards the other horses.

"Well alright then, smart ass. Do what ya want, but I ain't movin' her 'til she's ready for it. You sure as Hell wouldn't want to be riding if you got shot in the shoulder." Billy huffed stubbornly, narrowing his eyes at Jake, crossing his arms. He scratched his head under his Stetson as he watched the others ride off. Plopping down in the dirt, he leaned up against his saddle again. He raised an eyebrow at the collie as it shoved its head under Jake's left behind hat. Rolling his eyes, he smirked a bit. "Good, maybe some of your fleas'll stick around in there and bite him in the ass like he deserves." He couldn't help but murmur under his breath. Hoofsteps nearby made him glance up and raise a sky eyebrow as he saw Jake coming back. "Well, well, look who came crawlin' back to the camp. Did you finish throwin' your little hissy-fit?"

Spirit watched as the hat was taken off her head. Spirit looked at Gunner, "I was only sniffing it." She lightly wagged her tail, "I am Spirit. You must be Gunner, right..?" She lightly wagegd her tail and slowly approached. She started to sniff him and wagged her tail, hoping he was a nice dog. She looked at Billy. Then back at Gunner. She yipped.

Charlie slowed Mouse down to a trot as a series of gunshots rang in ears, she didn't turn around but she did pull out her gun, muttering to herself. She eyed a hawk circling above her and shot at it, missing completely. She shot multiple times, missing every time.
