RP preferences. New or normal.

So last night I was in flourite reading the general chat. Someone advertised a slave RP where we could chose to be a slave or a slave driver or master. I don't know for sure, can't even remember what animal you had to be.

Anyway, me being me I was glad something new was being advertised, finally something that wasn't a warrior cat clan or a wolf pack! I was tempted to join but it was late and wasn't worth joining to have to leave five minutes later. Well as I was thinking about that people in general turned quite sour

"Slaves? ewww weird!"
"That's so weird why would you want to RP that, just my opinion don't hate me!"

There was so much of that, I mean it's fair enough not liking someone else's RP choice but there's no need to come out and straight up insult them. What annoyed me more is the creator of that RP didn't advertise again, they actually scared her off! I couldn't find her ad again to even whisper her and RP with them tomorrow, I wanted to see what it was like.

I couldn't believe they didn't get kicked, because they wasn't just 'stating their opinion' which they claimed they was, they were bullying. Someone advertised their RP and they said it was wrong and weird in front of the whole of flourite.

Anyway, to me it seems they saw the word ''slave'' and freaked out. Personally I want to see more RPs like this, I'm very bored of the 'CATS, LIONS OR WOLVES OR GET OUT!" thing.

Is it just me then, or is anyone else bored of the normal RPs?

That sounds absolutely terrible. x.x People just don't know when to stop. And yesh, I agree about wanting newer RPs. Sadly, though, most people don't want new RPs. They want more 'normal' RPs. In order to have a unique RP you need to find people who want to RP that too.

People like that should have at least been given a warning to stop, because I do believe that counts as harassment. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to insult it in front of lots of other people, there's no point in that.

And yes, having the same type of roleplays (Cats, wolves, lions, whatever you're into) can be quite dull. But it just depends on what kind of roleplay it is and how much you like the roleplay group.

I'm just one of those people that are sick of normal wolf packs, cat clans and lion prides... They are near enough all the same and a half good, active ''normal'' RP is rare anyway. As a canine RPer, I've never been in a wolf pack that at all differed from any other, I've also never been in a fox RP that was literate but I tried to stay with them but they always became inactive.

This is why we need something different, I don't think the norm is working even for the people that make these normal RPs haha, let alone me.

I think that was the reason they stopped advertising. If it were me I would have continued to show up the people trying to insult me. But some peoples confidence gets knocked a lot quicker then others.

I remember a lot of people telling a female wolf to stop advertising for a female mate with movie clips! Which I found quite homophobic and if not a lot more stupid since you have to click a movie to watch it.

I saw that advertisement too, and it actually sorta reminded me of my favorite manga series... I thought it was an interesting idea! Anyway, yes, I do agree with you, the same old cats/dogs/lions roleplays can get dull, so seeing something creative and out-of-the-ordinary is always nice. Given, cats/dogs/lions RPs can be awesome when done the right way, but they are sort of all over the place.

As for the person who said "eww that's weird why would you RP that, but don't hate me that's just my opinion" ... that's a bit hypocritical, don't you think? Well, I won't get into that or anything, but it's too bad that whoever was advertising had to put up with that.

I like seeing new stuff every once in a while. One time I saw a raccoon RP that I joined. But it sounds like some one should have done something to make the bullies stop :/

Lol, but canine and feline RPs are all over the place because this game only has canine and feline models. |D And I like unique RPs but I don't mind the usual ones too. My RP is all species and fantasy style, does that count as "normal" or different?

No, no you have it wrong. I didn't say every canine and feline. I said wolves, lions and cats (Warriors). I don't have a problem with them RP's I just find them repetitive and samey.
and no, since your RP is multi species it isn't just wolves and lions.

Honestly I love wolves, lions are amazing and cats are ok, my only problem with these RP's is nothing really makes them stand out of the crowd. You can go from one to another and nothing is different.

So, seeing these people shoot down someone trying to do something new is disgusting. Those people if they see this thread should be ashamed.

People don't understand sometimes. There's nothing wrong with RPing something that ISN'T lions or wolves or cats for once. There's nothing wrong with RPing as humans. There's nothing wrong with RPing as horses, or owls, or dragons, because those people use their imagination. They take something as simple as a wolf body or a feline body and turn it into a completely different species, sometimes ones that don't even fall into the feline/canine category or family. It's called IMAGINATION and I like seeing that in people. Sometimes you need to get out of your comfort bubble and try something new before judging it.
