It does sound like a glitch, or server "hiccup".

I assume you do not have any friends that know your password?
Just in case you could always change your password to be sure, but as I said I doubt someone hacked your account c;

It may be a spawn glitch too. Like sometimes when entering in Fluorite I go end up in the ocean. (Not sure if it's server hiccup or spawn glitch)
