She yawns before answering him "well on my patrol I smelt a herd of elk near Snake Ridge so we can start there" she tells him as she hops down and waits for him to follow

Python got up and stretched. "Good as anywhere." he yawned, blinking away sleep.

Snickers and playfully pokes at his belly with her nose "sleep all day and eat everything in site will make you a pig" she teases as she heads into the forest knowing he could keep up

"Who are you calling a pig!" Python leaped up and arced after Dawn, nipping at her tail playfully before coming up and striding at her side.

rolls her eyes and uses a shortcut to Snake Ridge and sniffs the air to track the herd "you go along the back and herd the elk toward me so I can pick out any elders or sick" she says refusing to kill the calfs because it only hurt herds instead of helping them

He nodded, racing around back, giving the herd a wide berth so not to startle them.

She sniffs the air already pinpointing three sick elk and two elders and crouches down into a hunting postion... waiting for her packmate to herd the herd towards her

Python climbed to the peak of Snake ridge, from which vantage point he could see Dawn lying in wait. He looked down at the herd to check position and raised his head, letting out a long, rolling howl that sent the herd fleeing towards Dawn.

She smirks as a elder comes rushing close to where she lays and freezes when she sees a calf getting caught in the stampede and falls to the ground and she snarls as she jumps into the stampede to help it and shields its young body with hers... and while many wolves would have waited for the stampede to pass and eat the calf she had a deal with the herds of the forest that they would give their sick or elderly to her pack if her pack or her didn't touch their calves and she was not going to let this day old calf become dinner for a predator

Python wasn't sure what Dawn was doing, he probably would have taken the calf, anything to stay alive and healthy. However, he leaped down the ridge and scampered through the herd, helping her in shielding the calf. He stood in front of them and snapped at any elk that came to close, causing the surge to part around them.
