Copying self-made characters? Thats low >:I
« on: June 19, 2013, 05:06:12 pm »
Okay, so I was just roleplaying as my self-made character, Ravination 14 in Bonfire. After a while of roleplaying with the foxes, I was chilling down by the Pride rock thingy and then I see this 'Ravination f 14' I freak out because its copying and...I don't like that >I  After telling the person that copied my character to change their name and look (because the person copied both) they left. It came back about...20 minutes later, during that time of waiting, I was whispering my friend lanaxmakoda and telling her about what just happened. When it returned, its name was 'Terminater 16' sounds very similar to my name. I F3ed to Terminater 16, basically, Terminater looked like me, colored his/her pelt a brown color (I was Grey), had a black mane (I had a black mane), full red eyes (I had full red eyes), black skeleton markings (I had skeleton markings that were white), a cat tail (I had that), and a red tail tip (I also had that) I told my friend I was whispering (lanaxmakoda) to come here and see this, she did, we both agreed to do some screenshots and post it to the forum. Unfortunately, I have no screenshots of the occasion because my computer decided to not save them, but my friend did get some, I told her to post the screenshots to my post ASAP.

As copying one's character is wrong and it was wrong of that person, it did technically change it's appearance. Yes, there are some similar qualities but as long as it's no longer exactly like your current character, there shouldn't be no problem.

Copying customized characters is indeed rude of other people to do so, but unfortunately, nothing much can be done about this. It would only be a real problem if they were impersonating you [Example; acting like you, pretending to be you... etc.] or a member of staff. Yes, many people have characters that look alike with out even knowing, but it's just the way things are.

Referring from the quote above - only one thing is different about the character. You may not like it but maybe the person you have a disliking about has a similar character taste as you. Also, with the names 'Ravination 14' and 'Terminater 16' are completely different. In fact the only thing that is similar is that you both have a number at the end of your names. But many people have names like that. It's kinda like... lets say two people have the name 'Bloodbone' well, Bloodbone could be quite a popular name. It's also like telling someone in reality that they need to change their name because it's the same as yours. If you have a serious problem with this person then try PMing a member of available Staff to grab more info.

Yes but, the person that copied me purposely did it, see, the person that copied me was in fact a vixen I was roleplaying with.

D--> Sounds like typical trolling to me. Some people will do that just to troll around and make you mad. Often times there is nothing you can do about it. Best thing you can do is ignore them. If they start harrassing you, block them (and report them if necesary). You're not the only victim of custom character copying.

Just like suggested above,if people keep harassing you,the best thing to do is to block them. They are just players that are bored and have nothing better to do and they decide to copy different characters so they can annoy people.

Some people have no respect for fellow players and the trouble they go through to make a unique character. It is just a matter of life, though. Who knows, they may think less of the people on the other side of the screen... or just think of them as "not a big deal" and losing the fact that they are interacting with real people. They just lack common sense is all, and may take a while to step up and realize what they are doing is wrong. As said before me, the best you can do is block the said character thief. It is highly stressful to deal with others who look similar to you with a few colours changed, completely understandable. But what else could you do? Let them feel the guilt, or just ignore them. They are only punishing themselves, so not much else is needed rather.

I'm sure this kinda thing has happened to most of us at some point but as said there is only so much that can be done. I'm thinking it was some person that got bored and decided to try and tick somebody off. When that stuff happens just ignore em.

Ah, this is a common problem, as far as I can see.
I was laying in Fluorite as my foxie Sachria and suddenly I see this person. S/He looked at me then poofed. After a few minutes I see someone named 'sachria f'. Altho the person looked nothing like me, it did copy my name. Which can hardly be a coincidence, since I made it myself by combining some syllables and letters.

Just don't let them make you feel bad. Don't bother with lecturing them, as they are usually trolls looking for mischief. Or worse.
