Auto hitting.
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:10:10 pm »
I'm honestly okay with auto hitting to a certain point. When the other person(s) say it's alright and they do so also, then yeah, I auto hit. But when they don't, I don't auto hit. I say: attempt, tried, struggled, etc. But I just wanted to see the variety of opinions and thoughts all of you have. ^.^ Post below if you have anything to say to this or me. :3

Personally, I never auto-hit unless the other player does it first. Which goes on to say that I put try in front of every move I make. What I find silly, not to say annoying, is that people assume that you will just say "-you die-" and it's over with and not "Kin tries to hold the male down". Once I do this they always complain about "This fight is going to take to long" or "You can't do that". Although I always end up fighting an illiterate player so that might have something to do with it.

I'll auto-hit if the fight's outcome was pre-detirmined, or if someone agrees my character would be strong enough to pull off the move without the other even having a CHANCE of escaping (As in they were sleeping or being held down or such)

I personally don't like autohitting. I use the word Attempted the most, but I also used tried/if they attack hit etc.. The only time I actually auto-hit is when the opponent and I both know I am stronger, or unlesss the rp was planned. But geez, if I have a dollar everytime someone autohitted me and ignored my non-autohits, I could probably by something useful <_>

The thing about auto-hitting is, sometimes people who are newer to roleplays don't know that they can't just assume they do something. I personally do not auto-hit unless the other player's auto-hitting gets out of control. At this point, I lose the interest to try and keep the fight fair.
Thus, you cannot stop auto-hitting altogether. It's impossible. There will always be illiterates, auto-hitters, trolls and unfair fighters. Things like these will never change. We just have to wait 'till there are other ways of correction to prevent such.

             Sincerely,

-Cough- That happened to me and my friend. So I was on my wolf, and there was a battle at the + (Flourite Plains). I went there, and my friend was making lots of attempts, but a cat had supposely put her on the ground - a wolf, full grown, 3 times bigger than the cat, who was illiteratead godmodding. My wolf made several LITERATE attempts to claw its throat. Each was longer than 3 sentences. The cat said I was powerplaying, godmodding, and that I was illiterate. Really? My posts can take up to 4+ paragraph spaces if I'd like. Eventually I got banned. ._. For what, I don't exactly know.
But yeah, that's my story. Might wanna appreciate it, it took me over 40 minutes to type since I'm on the world's crappiest computer.
