Forum avatars are always blurry
« on: July 10, 2013, 11:47:49 am »
And gif images doesn't even work. I searched a little but didn't find what I wanted. On some forums i've been to, this was solved by converting the image to png but it didn't work and anyway, I want to use gif atm. I see people have really good quality avatars and gif images, too. Any help will be appreciated

yea forgot to add, I tried both, uploading with link and from the computer

Well usually if you have a big picture and resize it down a lot then chances are your picture might be blurry. The standard size for icons are about 200x200. You can always resize pictures in photobucket if you have a account there.

To correct the post above, 100 x 100 is the size that forum avatars uses.

You also should upload your avatar to an external site like photobucket mentioned above, or tinypic, imagehack etc, and use the direct link to show your avatar. This will keep an overall higher quality than if you'd upload it from your own computer.
