Map Download problems??

So, I am trying to download a map for my char that someone else made. I clicked on the link and downloaded the file folder. After the file loaded and I clicked on it, a window came up showing the file. The file was named "put in exports", so I clicked on it and moved it to the exports folder. Now, as I understand that should have worked and I should have seen the map portal in Cape of Distant Worlds, only I don't.

What did I do wrong? Help?

Did you export the map?

Simple steps:

1. Go to Tools, and then Map Maker.



2. When you click on it, some weird things will appear.

3. By now focus and only in the "Map" Tab. Yo will see "Map Name:" and "Map Display Name:", right?



4. In the "Map Name:" you will put somethin' at you choice (I think, not a pro). In "Map Display Name:" you will put the .fhm file the pack you download.
For example, let's say that the .fhm file is forestvalley.fhm, and I want to put Forest Valley:
Just put the things below, and ta-da!



Remember that spaces in the "Map Name" "glitches" the exporter out, so don't try it.

Then click in Export, and go to Cape of Distant Worlds! Your portal should be there.

Ok, so I did what you said, only when I went to the Cape of Distant worlds and went through my portal (which there was two of) I went to a blank map instead of the one I downloaded

Well make sure the name is Forest Valley, not forestvalley.fhm, ths is a example. Also you can delete the .fhm file (move to desktop) and try again.

What do you mean? You want to delete the portal map from the game? Okay, go to your C: Local Disk>FeralHeart>media>Terrains and you will find a .map file and a folder with ForestValley. Just delete these and restart the game!

weird, I have never heared of exporting maps. I always open the zip file, go into the folder where the files are (at first I moved the whole folder in exports xD), mark the files and just move them to exports with mouse (dun know how to copy). Usually after that, maps appear in cape, only sometimes some files need to be moved in other folders, but that will definitely be written there

Ok thanks for the help I tryed downloading a different map and it worked flawlessly, so I think it was just the map that I tryed to download before that was having problems.

Hi... I'm wondering if someone could help me out... I have downloaded my map and got it working in cape... I just can't seem to find the file.... I want my fellow friends to join me, but as you can see... I can't find my file... Any help?

First Off, you should make a thread first but to find your file, go to C:\FeralHeart\exports and I hope you found it.
