She ran her hand up her arm. "No. I fought them because I was forced to." She muttered, leaning back again as her gaze drifted to the bowls. She silently counted them and smiled when she realized that the boy had cooked for her as well. She muttered a thank you to Dimas, before taking a bowl and eating.

Simon Kelis

Simon's teeth dug into the soft flesh of his bottom lip, and he slightly bowed his head. "I'm sorry if I've offended you," he murmured into an apologetic tone, but Viiul had already picked up a bowl, probably signaling that it was the end of the conversation. He turned his head to Falkor, watching her excitedly tear at the meat, and he wondered if she understood what was going on. Dogs certainly are smart, he thought, even if they do have a limited vocabulary. His hand rested against her soft fur, and he began stroking her as she ate, allowing his nerves to calm down so he could properly think about his plans for the next few days. He would have to somehow be able to join the group planning to save the Diva without arousing the suspicion of others or drawing too much attention, but he wasn't even sure if that was possible.

Bothersome human society, Simon thought. Always limiting one's choices.

Marian walked out of the dragon's cave silently, and sat against the outer wall of the cave, singing softly to herself. A dove landed on her hand. It looked at her, cooing softly, "Hello there..." Marian smiled, petting the dove. Then she got an idea. She walked back into the cave, and picked up a flat stone, and her rock used to count the days. She walked back outside, to find the dove pecking a worm. The dove ate the worm, and looked at her. Marian sat down, carving something into the rock. She took off a bracelet she wore, and used it to tie the message onto the dove's back. She muttered, "Take this to Derizon M'ern.. Now go.." She lightly picked up the dove, and sent it flying towards town.

The message:

Derizon,
It's me Marian. I am safe in the dragon's cave. He hasn't hurt me yet. But please help, I don't want to be here any more. He breathes smoke and I don't want to choke to death.

Marian

"Don't worry about it." Viiul gave him a smile, pausing in her eating as she too watched the dog. Little interest showed i nher, however, and soon enough she turned her attention to the younger boy. She held back a snicker when she realized that Dimas' head was constantly leaning forwards, his eyes drooping closed, only to sharply open them as though lightning had struck.

Derizon tilted his head when the crow seemed distracted, breaking it's gaze away from the little staring contest that they had. The boy tilted his head in confusion, but was a little startled when the crow turned it's gaze back to him, and moved from the branch to the windowsill, then stilled and remained it's staring, red eyes boring into dull, brown ones. Closer now, more intense than before. He nearly felt his hand grasping the hilt of his sword.

Simon Kelis

Gratefulness flashed through Simon, and he was glad she didn't appear to be angry with him. He returned a smile to her before heaving himself off the floor and heading towards the window to gaze out into the deepening black.  A flash of white suddenly caught his attention, and his eyes flickered towards it, interest bubbling inside of him. He glanced behind him at the other guests enjoying their meals, and he wondered if it would be impolite of him to step outside for a moment. However, his curiosity got the better of him, and he politely excused himself, saying he would return in a few seconds.

Once his act of politeness had been completed, Simon grasped the doorknob and swung the door open, stepping out into the streets and shutting the door behind him. He walked rapidly towards the white figure, who was now perching among the twisted branches of a small tree. As he got closer, he saw that it was a dove. Surprise flickered through him. It had been quite a while since he had last seen one of the beautiful creatures. Now, it was standing in front of him, staring down at him inquisitively.

Simon stared at it a little longer before cautiously extending his hand. The dove flinched and flew up a little higher into the branches, appearing to have a little trouble flying as if something was weighing it down. He sheepishly dropped his hand to his side. Doves aren't like dogs, he reminded himself harshly as he watched the bird. It seemed to have something tied around it, but the dove was too high up for him to take it. A sigh laced with frustration escaped his lips, but his curiosity wanted him to try to reach for it. He decided that if he stood on his tiptoes and stretched, he probably could snag his long fingers into the rope or whatever it was that was bound to the bird. He quickly did so, and triumph rose in him as he felt his fingers brush something hard pressed against the soft white feathers.

The dove released a cry of alarm before starting to struggle, and Simon felt guilt rise up in him, but he pulled the bird off the branch. He managed to slip his hands around the bird so he was partially cradling it in his palms while having a firm, gentle grip on it. This must appear strange, he thought, deciding to bring the creature back into the house so that the light would help guide him in untying the queer rope from the bird. It didn't look very happy with it on, but it also could have been the fact that Simon was holding it.

Holding it close to his chest to keep it warm, Simon turned back to the house and walked in as if it was normal to carry around a wild dove.

Falkor tilted his head to one side when Simon appeared again, carrying something tasty in his hands. Curious, the dog trotted over and tried to stand on her hind legs again, but she nearly fell. Quickly using Simon's legs for support, the canine sniffed the creature in Simon's hands, thinking the man had brought her some food. Suddenly, the figure let out a cry as it fluttered, trying to escape the hands of Simon. Alarmed, Falkor immediately dropped onto all fours and darted off, heading towards the kitchen. What was that? Afraid of the creature, she dared not to come out as she ducked deeper into the kitchen.

((Note that Falkor has a fear of birds. xD))

((LOL! XD That dog!))

Simon Kelis

Amusement rose in Simon's throat, bubbling out into soft laughter as Falkor darted into the kitchen. His grip immediately tightened on the dove, and he held it closer to him in an attempt to calm it, despite its flailing wings that slapped feathers into his face. Gritting his teeth, he mumbled an apology towards the guests and turned his back on them. In the dim light, he could now see that the rope tied around the dove's back was a bracelet. Now who would do such a curious thing? he wondered, his long fingers easily working it off the dove. It appeared to relax as the piece of jewelry came away in Simon's hand.

A thud sounded in his ears, and a frown tugged at his face. Tightly holding the dove's claws with one hand, Simon glanced at the ground to see a flat rock near his shoe. The image of the dove struggling to fly higher into the branches flashed in his mind as he bent over to pick it up. Rubbing the piece of nature in his free hand, he noticed that one side of the rock felt uneven. He turned it over to see words roughly carved onto the surface. A message, he thought, seeing Derizon's name clearly scratched out at the top. Before he could stop himself or think clearly, his eyes had already read the words, and the gears in his mind were turning. The Diva!

The dove blinked at him before releasing a coo, and Simon turned his attention to it, wondering if he should let it go. Deciding it could be of use later, he ignored the dove's obvious wish to be released, and he dropped the rock and the bracelet into his pocket. Without explaining the situation to the other guests, he immediately started upstairs, his shoes thumping against the stairs. He knew he had abandoned all of his manners this night, but this was an important matter that required immediate tending to.

Simon stared at the few rooms and decided that the one with the closed door was Derizon's. He balled up his hand into a fist and firmly knocked on the door.

Fereda slowly stood up as Simon left the room for an unknown reason. She heard the echoing thus of his boots as he walked up the stairs, whatever reason he had left it must of been pretty important. But why would he go upstairs? The only person up there was Derizon. She needed to find out what that dove had been carrying. "Thank you for the lovely meal, but please excuse me for a moment." She excused herself quietly before slipping out of the room. She made her way up the stairs, but even her light weight caused the stairs to creak. She winced slightly at the loud sound before continuing on, following Simon. She stood behind him, watching the dove struggle in his firm grasp as he knocked on the door. "Would you like me to hold it?" She offered, leaning slightly over his shoulder.

Amazing art by JimMoriarty! Thank you so much! <3
