A groan escaped from Helian's maw as she raised her head to roll her eyes at Adro. "You killed our false hope," she complained as she dropped her head back down on the cold metal floor, ignoring the pain that flashed across her forehead. "But then again, it probably was best for it to happen now before we let it carry us away," she added, looking at the glass as half-full. However, the glass actually was never empty, since half of it was filled with water and the other half was filled with air. So technically, the glass was always full, but the wolf kept these thoughts to herself, knowing it wouldn't help them escape. She wondered if it really was possible to run away from this building once all of them had gotten out of their cages. She eyed the lock. Impatience stabbed at her like an insisting knock at the door as she waited for the human to finish making his rounds and leave. To her surprise, he approached her cage, and a frown spread over her face.
"Aww, I wanted to unlock it," Helian whined as she scrambled up onto her paws and walked towards the cage door, waiting patiently as the human quickly undid the lock. The door swung open, and she licked her nose as the human's fingers closed around her body and heaved her up. "Hopefully, I'll see you all later," she said cheerfully, twisting her head around to flash them a smile before the door slammed shut and blocked her view of their faces.
