Oh how I hate when this happens. I get it a lot, and the whole presentation seems to be the big thing. Because you could have an awesome idea but not everyone thinks so or joins. Which kinda upsets me.

I think the whole thing is to not have TOO much information or have an app that's way too detailed. It seems to me that people don't like reading sadly. So perhaps jumping right into the important stuff, doing quality sentences instead of large paragraphs, may just be better. Maps might also be a big deal make or breaker. I know a well made map is a reason I would join.

But the thing is, its a hit or miss opportunity. Some will cling to your roleplay while other's won't. And the main thing is devotion. A lot seem to lack the devotion to actually go in game and play.

You just gotta jump to see if it works.

Yeah, maps don't work well on either of my computers, so they will have to deal with it sadly ;-;
But yes, short and sweet sentences will work nicely *Flees to mind and thinks of idea*

I get these all the time!

I remember me and my friend were on Skype and we came up with this very unique role-play idea. We planned on making it a full canine role-play, this means the included can join: Any type of wolves, any type of foxes, dogs, and even coyotes.

So, we were going to call it, "Land of the Iris" (LotI; whichremindsmeofLoTR-) and it's a role-play where it's based in a forest that is thriving with life. The land is called Nitim! There is a hot spring, mountain ranges, and this wonderful meadow valley where wolves will become mates through a ceremony! I plan on opening this up if I ever have to disconnect with my other duties as an admin in another role-play ^^ My friend was half-way done with the map when I had to leave FH due to computer problems for a couple months. She hasn't been on since, but, my idea has never faded! This is actually the main point of the role-play!

There are three packs exact: Divine Waters (Dwellers of the streams and lakes) Electrifying Caverns (Those of which belong to the mountains and dwell inside the crystal caves) and than finally the Unison Valleys (Ones of which take home to the basic lands of the Nitim land)

All these wolves are ranked on their eye color, this might sound strange... but many family lines cover the land. It all began with 8 families. Ones of these colored of eyes: Purple(or a type of darker violet), Red(scarlet), C=Gold(yellow), Amber(orange), Blue (All ranges ^^), White (The rarest of the eyes!), Black(or brown!), and Green. All these eye colors were said to be the main source of their strengths. Those with the rare pure white eyes, were usually stand-offish wolves who were away from the others; thus, they are very rare. They were said to be the ones that didn't have the best site, and were even sometimes blind. Allot of times, they were pure white as well, failing to have pigment in their pelts or any part of their body. Their eyes are sensitive to light, so they try their best to stay to the dark... but finally, one of these wolves appeared in front of the packs. Would he actually change everything and let them open their eyes to what they would become in the future if they didn't come together?

That was the plot I thought of c:

Now, the background for the eye-colors was that these wolves were built differently for different tasks. One with the Gold most likely became high ranks, for they were wide ranged. They were tall, agile, and yet very strong. The second would have to be the Red, for they were the ones mostly built for brute fighting. Blue are the medics, for their sensitive eyes are only opened to help. Green are the hunters, and are said their eyes become the color of grass when on their task! Guards are brown/black, for they are forever hidden in the background, and only attack when under attack or persecution themselves. Purple is the Shaman. The Shaman is the one that focuses mainly on reading wolves, and informing the alpha and higher ranks of warnings from simple changes they see in everyday life people don't even bother with. Just the slight difference in a person, or the stance of a person... they can read like a very simple book. Finally, Ambers are the ones with the skill of being teachers/trainees. Some have the rare case of being a high rank as well as they seem to always be very close to the alphas and other high ranks.

Sorry for rambling on about my idea ^^'

Yes, sometimes I would have an idea and not exactly know how to carry it out. For instance, I've dropped four ideas because they didn't seem original to me. I dropped two more because I would rather for it to be a story than an actual role-play. The most recent idea, I may just have it for a story-line. Some outside factors like school and general living come into play as well as second thinking on the idea itself.

Situations like this do happen sometimes. Either you lack detail or too much detail. Keeping the idea short and simple just isn't the style for some people. The people love to read, see the image, and get information. Then there are some who like to just skim, get the point, and call it a day. It seems like a "what-if-I-do-this" thing for some people who want to execute an idea.

Understandable. I love reading so sometimes little information doesn't exactly do it for me. I'm thinking if you have the discipline and strive to sit down and write fully then by all means go for it, write as much as you want. Some just makes roleplays on the spot or don't exactly know how to describe it so it looks rushed or not thought out well. It's all about ones preferences and it's hard to please everyone. Which is why I live by the quote my signature has. It's helped me a lot really.

But what I prefer doing is having two versions.

The short rendition, which gets to the point, so you know where you are, has the images and basic information to get you by. And then the full version, usually set on an off site or forum, which has more information for those who like to read. It's currently what I'm doing now for the roleplay I'm hopefully going to finish soon.

The basic information, about the land and events happening will be placed on the forums here. Then, on the side forum, has the whole story, current and past, lore, and other things like celebrations and festivals. Even about species and other relevant things. I'm also OCD so I need to have things organized which a side forum provides that.

But again, you really have to have that strive to go beyond. I know that if I have my friends backing me up and pushing me, knowing they're gonna join, I try that much harder to get my work done. Which is why I have such a horrible time doing homework lol. If there's no one pushing me working on things just doesn't go in anyone's favor and I fall behind.

Oh yer, that always happened to me back in the days when I roleplayed lol D:
Back on IT too, in fact. Once I had this great plan; I was going to make a family of.. forest lions or something like that, in fact I think I even made my own species lol and I just simply didn't know how to present it and what to do with it. ;3;
