Please help, I have problems with the game!

I couldn't find a right thread where to post this, so move it if needed.

FeralHeart worked just perfect on Windows 8, but when I got Windows 8.1, it stopped working. It doesn't lag, but it keeps pausing every second, even when I'm in Lonely Cave, on character maker or even on title screen!
It's hard to explain, but it's not lag. I tried turning the settings down, and nothing works. Doesn't FeralHeart work on Windows 8.1?

No, but I don't think it will work. But if it might help, I'll try.

Oh, I tried switching to OpenGL and it's working better now.
