Downloads help
« on: December 17, 2013, 08:56:39 pm »
So, I've been playing FH for over two years now. I'm a literate, active, and I download maps often. I'm not new to downloads. So suddenly, I couldn't download presets anymore. My computer told me that the files weren't able to be downloaded, and I shrugged it off. A little while ago I tried again, and I asked it to open the file with the media player on my laptop, and to no avail. It simply showed me a sketch of what I was trying to download. So, I tried downloading the paw pad mesh thing, and it automatically opened it with the media player. NOT what I wanted. So, does this happen to anyone else? If it helps, I use an ACER laptop that's about two years old. Thanks, I'd really like to be able to download again.
A good laugh and a long sleep are two best cures for anything.

Try downloading from another browser like oogle Chrome, Firefox, etc. Sometimes the file may be corrupted from one. (Happened to me)

A little while ago I tried again, and I asked it to open the file with the media player on my laptop, and to no avail.

Hmm, if you still have the download, try right clicking with your mouse and selecting what program you want it to open with.

What was your PC doing when you tried to download files? Was it straight out saying it was blocked or would it just not work?

Just like Alpha stated if you double click the file you want to open it, it will open in what default program you have it. Usually I would suggest if you are opening up a preset file to edit, use Gimp if you have it. If it's just a regular file you wish to view then just right click it and hover over "Open with" to see what program you wish to open with.
