Having a lot of trouble with making a terrain mask~

As the title says, I'm having some trouble. Normal, 3 color height masks I can make in 10 minutes or less, but I'm trying to use Sameth's tutorial for a 6 colour terrain mask. I've tried several times, and I just /can't/ do it. I would GREATLY appreciate if someone could maybe.. Personally help me make it? I don't have one specific question to ask, so I don't think I can be helped here on the forum. If anyone knows how to make a 6 colour terrain mask in layers, PM me and maybe you can help me? I would LOVE the help ASAP!! Thank you! <3

Are you sure you're following all the steps in the tutorial exactly?

I'm trying to, but I find it extremely difficult, and just get frustrated. Maybe I'm not understanding it properly. That's why I want someone to help me, just so they can monitor what I do and make sure I do it right.

I looked at Sameth's tutorial and was able to create a working 6 coloured terrain mask. I understand it so if you want we can go through the process and steps together and see what you're having trouble with

Make sure it is all done on one layer only. Also make sure there is no Alpha Channel/Transparency included within the mask
