Crashing.
« on: February 13, 2014, 05:19:22 am »
Alright, so no matter what I rename my map file, it will crash my feralheart if I type it into Terrain Height Map. I capitalize what needs to be capitalized, put .png in at the end, and spell it right. Yes, it is a .png. I put it in Feralheart > Media > Terrain. Help?

Also, depending on what maps I go to, it will crash my FH. Every time I try to log on it, no matter how long it's been since the first time it's crashed, it will crash again and I can't get onto that character. I end up having no choice but to delete the character.

Go ino C: >>> Feralheart >> Media > particles and delete any ending in a _0, _1, and so on.

Also try this:

How to Change Your Rendering System
~Windows 7 and 8~

Method number 1~

First, go into C: > Feralheart. If you look at the FH main folder, you will see a flie called:
'orge.cfg'
Click it, and open it with 'NOTEPAD'.

Look at the first two lines in the orge.cfg file. That is where you change your rendering system.

If you followed everything that was typed and the instructions in the pictures, you should have successfully switched your rendering system.

Method number 2~

Turn on FH!
On the main screen, you will see this:

Click options, and go to video. Click 'Rendering System.'

Then just simply switch your rendering system.

Note that sometimes method 2 doesn't always work- That's why I listed the orge.cfg file first. ^^

Good luck! Hope this helped those who don't know how to change their rendering system!~

Also, for the crashing maps, make sure you're internet connection good. Sometimes having multiple browsers open at once uses bandwidth, which FH needs to connect to their server.

I usually have one tab open for music and that's it. I have pretty fast internet connection.

If I change my rendering system with ogre, then it will crash my game. I don't with my video card supports it. I tried doing it the second way, which did work, but when I tried to type in the file again it crashed. I think the problem lies with my video card. I probably have to get a new one.

For when you upload your own maps make sure it's 513 x 513 and grayscale.
