Terrified...

I am biting my nails terrified my mom put my hand I'm a cast and she said I might need surgery for my arthritis it is strange that I have it..I am going to a doctor to possibly have surgery on it, any advice because I am freaking out!!!

Welp, alll you need to do is keep calm, dont panic, and ofcourse the doctor might put amnestisia on you so you wont feel a thing ^^

My doctor hates me.. I threw one of his tools at him.. 0-0 That's the terrifying part that he will not go easy on me.

When my Nan's had to have a operation on her hands, because she had arthritis, they put her to sleep for the operation. And after, she was fine. So I wouldn't worry about it, because my Nan's hands are fine now.

Okay thanks guys, I had surgery done on a scar I had on my side when I was 5 and they didn't out me to sleep so was crying for 7 weeks... ;-;

You'll be fine. I was pretty scared myself last month when I had to have a few procedures done on me but once you get inside the nurses and the doctors know what to do. If you're scared tell them that and usually they'll try their best to make things more comfortable for you. As for throwing stuff at your doctor that's not very nice. Doctors are there to make you feel better and look after your well being so be kind to them. Your doctor will not hate you. They are professionals and they don't take stuff so personal. Perhaps apologize? As for your procedure they always use anesthesia for surgeries so there's no need to be afraid. Once they put you to sleep you will not remember or feel a thing. After you wake up you will feel some soreness from your surgery but even that's minor because you'll get pain killers. Good luck. Just think about how good you'll feel after the surgery <3

Hi Braumster! I too will be having surgery soon, not the same though. However, in your case it might me optional, depending on how bad it is. Though it is suggestive that you have it done to take away the pain, imagine waking up everyday to a painful hand, doesn't sound very fun does it?

All I can say is that there are many many many great surgeons out there and will do their best to make you better and you will surely have a pain free life afterwards. If you do have surgery think of the benefits; not having to do the dishes for a couple weeks, not having to do daily chores that someone else can do, people serving you when you need it- sounds like a perfect mischievous thing to take advantage of if you have any siblings you dislike, aye? xD

Just put it this way, you'll be asleep through the whole thing and your family will be waiting for you when you return from the surgery, everything will be alright, you'll be in great hands. I'm sure your parents wouldn't make you have surgery if they know something bad was going to happen~

If you want any advise, feel free to send me a PM, we both could use this time to support each other for our surgeries. When my mum had her surgery they wold her to keep her eyes open, she blinked and she was gone, just like that then a few seconds later she was in recovery! ^^

I threw some kind of shark thingy when I was 7 xD I was grounded for a good year.
