trouble starting FH

hello friends
here's my conundrum
when I go to start up feral heart, the ogre rendering system is there, and then when I click "ok" it starts feral heart for a brief second, and then feral heart closes by itself

Try changin' yer renderin' system (click on the link below and scroll down to 'Game is not starting or having graphical issues/glitches'. There, ye' will find a small how-to when it comes to changin' yer renderin' system). It'd be good to also lower yer view settings once in the game and turn off water reflection to reduce any lag.

I also suggest goin' to yer Feralheart>Media>Particles folder and deletin' any particle file endin' with _0, _1, etc. Sometimes the particles will duplicate if ye' do somethin' such as export a map which results in the game crashin'.

Right click FH's shortcut and run as an administrator. That sometimes can fix things up. :3
Also, have you downloaded any mods, maps, or items reciently? That sometimes could be the culprit. Make sure you put everything in the right files!
Also, as Vespian stated, you can also search for particles in your computer by typing .particle or particle. Delete any ending in _0, or _1! Same goes for mutliple objects in the my_objects folder in media > objects.

Lastly, is your computer really suited for FH? Some older PCs can be slow and crash, but if you lower video settings that can help.

You can reinstall FH by going into the control panely and uninstallig te game completely. Make sure you save any maps, presets, etc somewhere other then Feralheart!

nothing's working
I have not downloaded any maps or items or presets or anything.
my computer is an old windows xp, but it had no trouble running feral heart before I uninstalled it a while ago (for no reason, really.)
I reinstalled feral heart today, and that's when the problem started.
no amount of changing the ogre.cfg coding will work, no amount of uninstalling and reinstalling feral heart will work.
sorry if i'm coming off as rude, but im just really mad.

Reinstall Fh and make it as administrator maybe, it helps sometimes.

What madam Shenidan means is when ye' uninstall Feralheart, be sure to uninstall the folder as well and any other related components. Then when ye' install it again, right-click the Feralheart desktop icon and click on the option labelled 'Run as Administrator'.

I had this happening for awhile but I know how to fix it.

Test 1: Check your particles folder for anything ending in _1, _2, _3 and so on. If you find anything ending in these digits, delete them then check your Feral Heart game. If it runs then that was your problem.


Test 2: Delete your Feral Heart folder and re-instal the game.



Test 3: Right click your FH icon on your desktop and click "Run as Administrator" it should run, if it does not, try any of the other 3 here.

Test 4: Change your OGRE rendering document, right click the file "ogre.cfg" and open it in notepad or any other word document software and copy the information below, and replace the current text.
