I have noticed this too. I've seen the recruiting for hyena roleplays happen at Stone Bridge lately. I think it's pretty neat. I might join a hyena RP one of these days.
Now if only fox RPs could make a comeback too.

A little off topic but did you know hyenas are related to the feline family?
Art is the symbolic figure of the artist's emotions, so if you cannot create art, if you can't create emotions.

Indeed. The hyena family is classed under feliformia - "cat-like" carnivores, which (surprise surprise) the cat family is also classed under. :)
Biology ftw

It seems a bit odd though that we make hyena characters using the canine model when they're more closely related biologically to felines. xD

I know! I bet if you made a feline hyena and a canine hyena the feline one would look more realistic.

Wow so many people love hyenas -dies-

Good to know you most of you guys like the fact they're a-comin' back.

And Coalara, I understand why you think it's a bit of a downer on how they are only really in Africa Rp, ect.

I /did/ use a Striped Hyena in a fantasy roleplay one time, but that's the only time I think anyone has ever used a Hyena in a Fantasy Roleplay.

i don't know nothing about mopeds

There have been some glorious hyena groups, and I remember the species with a certain fondness - they are such interesting creatures in the real world. Their rankings in reality are VERY strict - almost like a monarchy type thing. And the females tend to be bigger, which I love because mostly females are the smaller ones in a species. And the lowest female rank is still higher than the highest male rank! They are odd creatures, and get a lot of bad press (You know, the evil, maniacal creatures you get in the TLK) but are still amazing!

The only thing that bothers me is that the females are usually made smaller by users, when realistically they should be big... but a fair mistake. c:

Although Im not really fond of hyenas, but its nice to hear that hyenas are making a come back, It would be more interesting to have them in Rp's.

To be honest, hyenas are one of my favorite animals,so I am quite happy that they are finally making a come-back .w.
But then again,a tsunami wave of them can get annoying.
Not to mention, roleplaying hyenas is hard work, seeing that every lion around wants to kill you...

They had us waiting long enough! xD

That's true though, it feels like it has been a while since hyenas have been seen.  Not only just in Fluorite Plains but in packs too.  I must say I'm pretty glad. c:
