Hyenas: Making a Come-Back?
« on: April 29, 2014, 06:24:01 pm »
Anyone else noticed the sudden spike in Hyena Cackles recently?

I've been seeing them recruit a lot of the time, quite suddenly.

Is this a dream come true?!

Thoughts on this?

I can't say I've noticed, but then again, I don't spend an awful lot of time in the roleplay world of FeralHeart. But it's good to hear that they're making a come back; I'm sure I'm not the only person who thought hyenas have been undermined recently. It's like they're seen a vermin in the roleplay world, mostly by the Lion King roleplayers in my opinion.
I used to have a striped hyena char back in the day. It might be time to get her out again....

I mean, I guess It's good to have something different going on, it sure is weird seeing them again, though. .u.

Ah yes, I saw a big group of them dart across fluorite a few days ago. I thought the lions ate them all... But I'm glad to see that they've made a come back :)

Oh, I've noticed them.

I notice them

EVERYWHERE I LOOK.

It's really annoying to someone like me, who's never really cared for hyenas.
It's not that I hate them for the 'noob' reason, it's just because I don't enjoy RPing them as an animal.

Which is why I was annoyed the other day when I was looking for an RP, and EVERY SINGLE MOVIE CLIP (all but one mappless clan) were hyenas.
Yea, I know fads come and go, but really.
Hyenas?
Dragons are cool, they're giant flying lizards with magic.
Humans are OK, at least most human RPs had magic or an interesting plot.
Wolves are WC are always something you can join if you're bored.
Even horses are OK, since many horse RPs had numerous things you could do.

Hyenas...
What type of hyena RP's I've seen:
-Realistic
-Semi-realistic to realistic
-Semi-realistic
-Part of an African RP
-Part of a multi-species RP

All of it is realistic to semi-realistic, which is a real downer to people like me who enjoy fantasy/magic/unrealistic RPs.
I'm not saying that the occasional hyena RP is bad, but this sudden WAVE of hyenas is annoying.

Rant over for now.

With all of those Lion King RPers EVERYWHERE trollers might want to make a hyena, get a nice group, and go troll the Lion King prides, or like Faolan said, hyenas are just cool.  ;D

Honestly, I'm glad they are making a come back after having vanished into thin air for a while.
I personally adore hyenas. I think they are way underestimated not only in the Feral-Heart universe, but in the real world as well. They're very unique animals that just never cease to fascinate me, so I'm quite happy roleplayers are finally appreciating them to this extent.

I'm really happy they are, as well I'm sure a friend of mine who adores hyenas more than I would be. And honestly,  seeing such emotional/caring and rather intriguing creatures populating more into the world of FH for those to both enjoy and maybe learn more about these hyenas is rather sweet to hear right now, in my opinion.

To sum it up, I'm glad such a unique species in nature making a comeback for once. Hyenas are really underrated.
