Do you think topics that have been discussed on the Feral Heart forums have had an influence or an impact on people in the game? Reason I ask is because I think it's a possibility that some people who read the discussions and topics posted in Game Discussion might have changed their playing behaviors/habits.

Example:
When I first joined the Feral Heart community, many Warrior Cat roleplayers I would encounter in Fluorite Plains would map claim and start fights with anyone who got near "their territory". Nowadays, I don't see much of that anymore. I don't really see any map claiming clans out there anymore. Do you think it could be because of all the complaint/rant topics people have posted on the forums made the Warrior players change their ways?

Another Example:
Many people have called Bonfire Island as "Noob Island" and a place for illiterate roleplayers. I've seen words like that appear on a few Game Discussion topics, and say that Bonfire Island needs more "literate roleplayers". Lately people have been saying that more advanced roleplayers have been roleplaying in Bonfire Island. I've been out to Bonfire Island recently, and I've seen some people roleplaying in a more advanced style, and more "realistically" based on the animal they are roleplaying as. Do you think the posts on the Game Discussion section might have had something to do with this change, or is it just a mere coincidence?

What do you think? Do you think forum discussions might have something to do with the few changes in roleplay behavior in the game... or is it just a coincidence?

I think that yes, the forum, does have an impact on the game.
That is saying something- because for that to happen: most Feral-Heart players would also have to be active on the forum, yes?
I, for one, say that Feral-Heart is a united community filled with wonderful people- who keep eachother up to date and look out for one another.

There should just be an 'Influence the Game' thread xD!

Personally I think it depends. I've noticed that many FH players don't ever go on the forums, so obviously threads on here won't affect them. However, people who are active on the forums tend to change a bit depending on what's being discussed or ranted about.

As stated, it depends whether or not the members go on the forum - but then again, those who do might carry out the 'messages' so to speak, with a chain-reaction type effect.

But I know for a fact that it affects me:

Really obscure example:

There was this thread, up AGES ago, that was an observation on how, when a random walks into the territory the pack/pride/clan members will either:

1. Stare suspiciously/get agressive.
2. Become frightened and hide.
3. Bounce up and say hi in a really overly-cheery voice.

For some reason, this stuck in my brain, and I began to view the 'default' reactions as sort of 'lesser' and n00bish. (They really aren't though, that's the funny thing.) So, when above situation happens, I always do something weird so as to avoid the stereotype.

I do think the forum has had an impact on the game, but it would be dependent on actions than just words alone. As a community, people will have discussions about almost anything that in-game and around the forum. When a certain topic is brought to attention, like territory claiming, people will talk about it. Sometimes, seeing the other sides of a topic or common tread in the community, it either influences or enlightened people.

Even those who do not check the forum can be impacted from it, too. People who like to read the forum and play the game will more than likely influence others who don't. For instance, if a certain group starts a tread, then it will start to be noticed. Before you know it, it becomes a common "thing" in the game. If it has a positive atmosphere about itself, then it just becomes the norm of the community. These treads can range from helping new players, trying out new role-play styles, or just how you present yourself to others.

I have noticed there has been a rise of experienced role-players in Bonfire Island. It is nice to see a diversity of players together on a map other than Fluorite Plains. In addition, there has been a more welcomed feel with warrior cat players as said before. There is hardly any out-of-character territory claiming with any group, for that matter.

There should just be an 'Influence the Game' thread xD!
Lol, I think an "Influence the Game" thread would be a bit too obvious.  ;)

In my case I don't think it's because of the users/players looking at the forum topics, but roleplaying in general.
As most of the older (The ones that joined the game a long time ago) and more experienced members have stated in other topics and sections, this is the specific roleplaying kind-of-chart.

New player's roleplay (Roleplaying in game for 0-2/3/4 months): -Jumps over and kills deer-

New-ish player's roleplay (Roleplaying in game for 4-5/6 months): *Runs over and growls* You're dead! *Rips back skin off*

Alright player's roleplay (Roleplaying in game for 6-9 months): *He ran over to the buck and growled.* "You're not going to make it this time!" *He jumped onto the back of the deer and sank his fangs into the shoulder, ripping the fur back.*

Experienced player's roleplay (9 months-2/3 years): The brute caught up to the buck and snarled, baring his cream coloured fangs. The deer tried to kick him but missed, so the small but strong male pounced onto the buck's back, bringing it down and sinking his now blood stained fangs into the deer's wounded left shoulder.

Quick conclusion: Rp'ers learn how to rp realistic creatures slowly, but they get there after a while. To be honest, I was a noob too when I first started rp'ing on the IT servers.

Weeell.....

I think /some/ things do. but not a lot.

I mean, yes, a lot of topics on the forum have influenced people in the game.

Buuuuuuut.

The game was changed only slightly, and even then they weren't really very big changes.

Except for a Several obvious things nothing's really changed due to the Forums.

I think that it could have SOME influence with the people in game, but not much.
As you have given examples, I remember when I first joined, fight dogs were al crowded around this one spot in Ficho Tunnel but they're not there at all anymore from what I've seen.
Maybe a few members do read the forums to see if anything new about what they do has been posted or maybe they just hear people in game saying things like that.

Definitely. People who actually are active on the forums probably carry these opinions out to the game, other people hear it and it escalates from there. The forums impact many peoples gameplay since you rarely see newbie pepel tlkin leik tis in the forems, so people want to listen to you and therefore follow you.

~Coming back with new words

I was just looking through game discussion and found this here.
It doesn't just have an impact on players and such, but also the game/forum in the first place.
For example someone had a great idea for the game, staff can add it if it's possible.
Also, there may be new (Official) Public Maps if someone posts good ones on the forum. Who knows...
