I draw on my ipad with my finger all the time. It's not that hard once you learn the technique, so we shouldn't really "give you some grace", we should expect very nice artwork once you get the hang of it.
There's many beautiful pictures drawn on the iPad, so doing a "bad job" just means you need practice with it, it's not the iPad, if you where thinking.
It also maybe your art program ;O Some don't meet the standards a digital artist would need. I use procreate. What do you use?
