Welcome! SoC is a Mapped, Active, Fully Literate, Highly Realistic, Rivaled and Mature Wolf Roleplay. We have based ourselves as much on real wolves as possible, while still allowing enjoyable ranks and interactions. A real pack is made up of the Alpha pair, their offspring, and perhaps a couple loners. In SoC, we have a 'mixture' of real wolf behavior and some unrealistic elements.Website: Secretsoc.boards.net
Hierarchy
(Do not ask for a High Rank please.)

The Alphas - The leaders of the pack. Mated pair.
The Betas - Second in command, leads when both Alphas are away. Not a mated pair. (Due to challenging rights. Complicated, explained on website.)
Deltas - There are two kinds of Deltas. The first are chosen offspring of the Alphas, they are trained to become the next Betas/Alphas, you cannot apply or earn this, you must be offspring. The second are the heads of each rank, Head Soldier, Head Scout, etc. This rank can be earned.
Young Subordinates:
Scout - They patrol the territory, marking borders and chasing out loners. Also check an area before the rest of the pack enters.
Soldier - The guards and fighters of the pack. They are the first to attack and defend, often the strongest next to the Alpha male.
Healer - Very knowledgeable about health and the body. Best to stay on their good side, as you may end up depending on them to survive. Note:We do not use herbs, as it is a bit unrealistic. Instead, Healers are educated on the body, and can diagnose illnesses, pregnancies, and adjust dislocations. They also know whether a wolf needs to eat or to hold food, prescribe rest, exercise, deliver pups, etc.
Omegas - The lowest rank. They are often the punching bags of the pack, and are usually assigned to hardest/most dangerous tasks. When the pack goes on a hunt, they remain in camp to watch the pups, and are fed regurgitated meat from the pack. If there are no pups, they may accompany the pack on the hunt, though they may or may not participate.
Juveniles - The one year-old's. Being trained and taught by the rest of the pack, the 'teens' if you prefer.
Pups - The next generation. The young fuzzballs that tumble at your paws and beg for milk or regurgitated food. Anyone younger than one year is considered a pup.
2/4 pups. Will only allow four pups, the rest must be born into the group via two mated characters.
As you may have noticed, there is not a hunter rank. This is because the pack hunts together, as one, and eats in order of rank. While we may not have 100% realistic ranks, we do follow wolf behavior very closely.
We have three packs, but currently only one is recruiting, as Alpha's are needed for the others.
Do not ask to be an Alpha, auditions are on the website for members to access.
Behavior
In a real wolf pack, each wolf exhibits behavior according to their rank and level in the pecking order. For example, an Alpha will walk around with a high held tail and head, while an Omega would almost always be in a submissive stance (low head, tail between the legs) and cower below the higher ups. Also, as you may have guessed, they do not 'speak' to one another. Seeing as that could be a tad difficult in a Roleplay setting, we do allow verbal speech, so long as you use body language as well.
Example: Omega walked happily through the camp, listening to the singing birds and humming bees. She paused as another wolf came towards her. Alpha. The she-wolf lowered her head and tucked her tail, letting out a soft whimper as he passed. "Good morning to you."
We use a mixture of both body language and verbal language. Note: This is not only between Alphas and Omegas. The Young Subordinates will do this as well, acting submissive to those higher, and more dominant towards those below them.
Be aware: Wolves higher in the order than you may often exhibit dominant behavior to 1) Help keep them higher up, and 2) Remind you of your place. The only ones that will not be reminded of dominance are the Alphas, seeing as they are the highest.
Pups are cared for mostly by their mothers, though the entire pack will help out. When a pup is hungry, they will either cry for their mother or nurser if still drinking milk, or paw/nip at an adults muzzle for regurgitated food if weaning. They will not leave the den area until they are a Juvenile, and will not leave alone until adults. They will come out of the 'nursery' when they can walk semi-well. (Teetering is to be expected)The Packs
Pack of the Fern - Talented in swimming and fishing. They are the wisest and the most kind of the three packs. Do not underestimate them though, they can be fierce and very cunning. Strong family like bonds, hard to tell who is actually related and who is not. Most likely to take in loners or rogues.
Alphas: Astra
CAPPED
Pack of the Bear - Very strong and fast, they can bring down the largest prey. By far the most brutal, they are also hot-headed and strict. However, they are protective of their pack-mates. Will kill loners or rogues.
Alphas: Anemy
CAPPED
Pack of the Skies - Skilled climbers and diggers (Ironic. Name derived from the fact that their home is so high in the mountains). Enhanced hearing and seeing. Neutral towards towards others, and prefer to keep to themselves. See each other as equals, though ranks are respected. May possibly take in loners or rogues.
Alphas: Lykaios (Skoll)

If you are a pup, you will need the one from All Wolves and the one from Pups and Parents. You will understand when you see them.
