Trying to scribble in Photoshop.
« on: July 17, 2014, 09:36:33 pm »
I attempted drawing in Photoshop (Tracing after a sketch I scanned, rather.).
Needless to say, it turned out unexpectedly decent.

The sketch took around 20ish minutes, the outline took maybe 1 hour or less, and the colouring and shading took roughly 2 hours, according to my music playlist. I also took a break to watch two episodes of Hannibal somewhere around there.
Wow, I usually don't put that much effort into a drawing.

Apologies for that horrible watermark, but I was growing impatient and didn't want to waste anymore minutes on it.

Here's the sketch too, might as well throw that in here.

(Seeing them side to side, more or less, makes me feel strange.)

I hope that I can improve on my digital art skills. Drawing with a touchpad is a little bit uncomfortable though.

Oh my, thank you so much. (I don't really know how to react to compliments please excuse my awkwardness.)
I called it scribbling because I don't believe it took as much effort as some of the much better art I've seen before. But I guess I shouldn't compare myself to fully-fledged artists.

Owh, I've seen your art and I think it's lovely. I do appreciate the comments, though.
I'll admit, I could probably do better if I had more patience, (And a graphics tablet, perhaps.).
Heh, I'm afraid this is all I have for now. If I make more art in the near future, I'll try to remember to post it here.

I use Photoshop because I can cheat my way through drawing the outlines with the Pen tool (Does SAI have a Pen tool?). If I wouldn't be able to do that, my pictures would look terrible.
Considering I work with a mouse.
I don't know much about SAI, but once and if I can get my hands on a tablet I'd be willing to give it a try. Unless it works in a similar manner to PS. I'll try it out with my mouse if that's the case.

yup! with the pen tool you can edit your lines pretty easily. if this is what you mean:

Huh. It's pretty hard to get me out of my comfort zone, so to speak, but I'll try out SAI sometime later this week.

I love your art style. When you get more confident in your art, you could try doing requests. I'm sure everyone would love your drawings<3
