"Falon! Get up! Quick! The Shadow Wolves are attacking!" Mortem yelped towards hi pack mate. By her belly was a small little pup, looking no more then a day old.
"Hang on Mortem!" She barked back. Falon scooped up her precious son, the next Alpha of the pack. She held him close to her chest, eyes flashing in protection.
The little pup squeaked.
"Shh, shh, shh, don't cry Canem, mommy won't let them harm you," Falon whispered. She walked beside Mortem and began to dash out of the pack site. Suddenly a black figure waned into her side, sending her pup flying.
"Canem!" Mortem yelped. He ran after the little pup and jumped forward, grasping the pup in his jaws. A mass of teeth sank into his lip, causing him to open his jaws to let out a growl. Canem fell to the ground like a rag doll, and was scooped up by the wolf.
"No! My pup! My pup!" Falon yelped. She tore after the the black wolf, but it was too late. Her pup and the wolf vanished into the night.
