I haven't played FH in a while so yesterday I decided to go on.
When I got on, the character selection background was black. When I clicked play, the background was gone there, too.
Then I decided to delete the game and reinstall it. When I installed it, I clicked on the icon and it brought me to the ogre rendering setup thing. I clicked play and I got the stupid "FeralHeart.exe has stopped working" thing. Please help.

Have you tried changing your rendering system?
How to Change Your Rendering System
Windows 7 and 8

Method number 1
First, go into C:\Feralheart. If you look at Feralheart's main folder, you will see a file called "ogre." This file is a .cfg file, which means people can read an edit it with simple text.
Click it, and open it with "NOTEPAD" when it asks.

Look at the first two lines in the ogre.cfg file. That is where you change your rendering system. You can basically ignore everything else listed there!

On my image, my first two lines are:

Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]

To change my rendering system, I'll need to change it to:

Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]

And vise versa! Simple as that. ^^

Method number 2
Turn on Feralheart.
On the main screen, you will see this:

Click options, and go to video. Click 'Rendering System.'

Then just simply switch your rendering system.

Note that sometimes method two doesn't always work - That's why I listed the ogre.cfg file tutorial first. ^^ Good luck! Hope this helped those who don't know how to change their rendering system. Happy gaming!

If that doesn't work, when uninstalling make sure to both uninstall and manually delete the Feralheart folder (after saving any presets, maps, etc. of course).

I changed my rendering system to OpenGL, but it didn't work.
I tried changing it back but then it said I didn't have permission?

Try this first and let us know how it works out.

I used a torrent this time and it still says FeralHeart.exe has stopped working whenever I open it.
