Ancient Pawprints is an up-and-coming warrior cat roleplay that has a map in the making, is realistic (down to the names!), has an ongoing plot, and is literate.

The Clans

There are four Clans. BuzzardClan, FurzeClan, EchoClan, and PondClan.

BuzzardClan lives on open ground, and is named for the countless buzzards seen circling around in the sky.

FurzeClan lives in dense forest, and is named for the copious amounts of brush and briar along its ground.

EchoClan lives on rocky territory, and is named for the echoes heard in the numerous caves and tunnels in it.

PondClan lives in a marshy area, named for the large ponds around the territory.

Before long, the slender she-cat stepped out. She knew Russetstar was there, and was waiting for him to reveal his presence. "Maplenose," he greeted the rogue, slipping out of the brush. "Russetstar," she replied, curt. "I suppose you've returned to invite me to your Clan once again?" Russetstar smiled faintly, "you've assumed correctly."

The she-cat lay curled up in her nest, shivering, aqua-blue eyes growing wider and wider with fear. "I wish... it would just stop..." She grumbled to herself, teeth chattering as her talons dug into the dirt beneath her.

Please post a RP sample: Silverstar had been awake all night, and in her exhaustion hadn't been keeping a close enough watch on her overzealous apprentice. The young cream colored tom had run off chasing a rabbit, and she had lost him. They were far too close to the two-leg side of the forest, and sunrise was rapidly approaching. Moving silently through the forests, her keen sight scouring the territory for any sign of her apprentice. She knew he had to be around here somewhere, she had tracked him to this area.

Sighing she continued on, slowly crossing over the border, her voice pitched low, "Sandpaw?". Her inquiries were met with silence, and her wayward apprentice was no where to be found. Gritting her teeth she kept going, moving on, the trees thinning behind her.  Finally she saw her apprentice, but she was well within sight of the two leg place. "Sandpaw you rotted brat!" Her voice was soft but firm, and her eyes glinted angrily, "Get back to camp. Now. No detours. You could have been killed." Her glare sent her apprentice scurrying back to camp. He could get back to camp on his own, it was hardly his first moon as an apprentice. He was almost a warrior and he was still making silly mistakes.

The pale pelt of Newtstar shone in the moonlight. His fluffy tail whipped behind him, as he ran beneath the trees. He stopped and his white whiskers twitched with worry. The pale tabby continued to run once again. Newtstar's fear had almost engulfed his hope, then he stopped.

     How would they act towards him? Would they be mean? Newtstar then stopped and looked back at his beautiful clan. Then it hit him, a pure surge of pride. He was the new leader of his clan, he had to act like one.
      He smiled and jumped over a rock in the way.  He reached the gathering place, "Willowstep," he said, "Let's do this." Newtstar walked in slowly. His deputy at his side he puffed out his chest, and narrowed his brown eyes. He saw the other leaders, he was the biggest there. That made him have even more pride. The pale tabby tom departed from his deputy's side. The new leader trotted over to the high rock.

He jumped up and sat down, he looked at his clan. His brown gaze rested upon and apprentice, his clan's apprentice. The little fluff ball was bundled up sacredly. He wanted jumped down and comfort him, but he new it was about to start. He then heard a leader say he should go first, he swallowed. "Ok, umm.i..I..," she stamped. Get a hold of yourself Newt he said to himself.

"Redstar has died and I have taken her place. He was a great and kind leader. Also Tigerfern has went to join starclan." he looked at his paws. Then looked back up, "Willowstep is our new deputy. We announce four new warriors, Frostberry, NightFang, Littlefoot, and silentshade." he finished.

    As the pitch black night sky shown over head, it's bring moon light shown though the open fields of the clan, making the Medcat Ravenflight's den more easier to see, when approaching the med cat's den a strong scent of mouse bile was clear.  

The dark furred tom turned to look at his new visitor, his head moving away from his patient.  "Oh, I didn't expect visitors, come and sit down, I'm not yet done with this one.  His words were soft and calm as he turned back to his small patient that seemed to have a small case of the ticks.  Putting some of the mouse bile into his mouth, he started to slowly applies it over the kit's ticks.    "So...  What brings you here?"  He said softly between licks.  

Turning away from the kit, the tom turned to face the new visitor, as the kit scampered off, clearly done and happy to get out of the fowl smelling den.  "Let me guess."  He said softly, with a grin, his pointed teeth showing though the smile, while the fowl taste of mouse bile still lingered in his mouth.  "Is someone in need of some tick removal?"  He couldn't help but to turn and face the entrance of the cave, looking at the other cats.  "Seems as though the ticks have been on everyone in this camp..."

While many of his clan are rather large, Gale is a sizable cat even with that comparison. A strong, firm build compliments a broad chest and mountainous shoulder. Large muscular legs carry this frame, obviously meant for coming to blows and not for speed. A slightly elongated face, and a roman nose, Gale is considered odd but strangely a very handsome cat. He has dark cobalt blue eyes, often a void of expression with the feel of starting into a cat.
Cherryberry is quaint little Calico, red and white dominating over the lithe frame. Long, slender legs hold up a slim and elegant build. Her face is slightly elongated, with big eyes and near perfect ears sitting on her head.

Extremes are 2-6, while normally it ranges from 3-5 per week. At some points of any given year, I may possible be offline for 3 to 5 days but I will give a heads up as soon as I know it can possibly happen.

"Cherryberry?" Halting in their journey, Galestorm's voice shook in such a way that his sister hadn't heard since the night of their Mother's death. The large warrior hung his head, his features gaunt and ghostly in the chill night air and low light of the moon. Tears fell in the silence, the great form shaking in it's fight against the pain and sorrow inside. It was too soon, too soon, he had just became deputy hardy two moons ago. Why did Heronstar have to go? Why didn't she tell him it was her last life? Cherry moved closer, laying her tail ever so quietly on his shoulder, knowing had she been anyone else this would have ate at her brother in his silence. "Cherryberry, what are we going to do? I can't possibly lead them," Galestorm wailed, cobalt optics hidden behind tightly shut eyelids. "They're going to expect someone as good as her!" Throwing back his head, Galestorm searched the skies for a moment before letting out one last bellowing cry.

Please post a RP sample (Length must be one small paragraph at the least): The form of a slender she-cat sat stone-still atop a large rock, gray fur outlined in brilliant silver by the pale light of the moon. A cold breeze rushed through camp, slicing through her thin pelt and freezing her to the bone. Azure eyes gleamed out from the shadows that were cast across her face, like little beacons of light in the darkest abyss. It was a peaceful night, the absolute quiet almost seeming surreal in the always-bustling camp. It was like she had been plunged into a new world, a different world, one far from her own; it had been so long since she'd been able to sit back and observe her surroundings with no voices calling out for her, or furry bodies rushing around, distracting from the view as they tussled and played. There was nothing to see, and everything to see. It was her home, but it was so... unfamiliar now, now that she gazed upon it with the intention of looking into every crack and crevice, to observe every twitch of the grass as the breeze sang in her ears. Mistfall's eyes slid shut as she took in a deep breath, the cold, crisp air rushing into her lungs and chilling her body further.

It was a wonderful night.
