"FeralHeart.exe has stopped working"

I got this computer for my birthday on 12/27 of this year, and one of the first things I did was download FH since it had been on my old computer. When I clicked on the icon, the code box loaded and I selected Direct39 and it proceeded to open the window.
But it did not load for more than 2 seconds before it popped up, "FeralHeart.exe is not responding." I couldn't even get to the login screen.

I've seen all the posts about this same problem, and let me tell you, I've tried EVERYTHING.

I have completely wiped it from my computer AT LEAST 5 TIMES. I have downloaded the patch. I have checked for duplicated files in every folder possible. I have clicked "Run as Administrator." BUT NOTHING WORKS.

It's definitely not an Ogre problem, I made sure of that.

I did notice something, though. Every time I open it, it toggles from OpenGL and Direct39, but I never have the option to change them. I'll click on it one time and the only option is Direct39, and the next time it's OpenGL. Does this have anything to do with it?

Please help :c I had to give up one of my favorite games because it no longer works.

You may want to check the Orge file and see if there's both OpenGL and Direct39 there.

I noticed that we're now using DirectX, not Direc39. You might want to download that instead.

I did download DirectX, but it didn't show up as an option for me to use instead of Direct39. I'll need to check the Orge files and see if it has both. Thanks!

Mhhm! If it says you're on Direct39, change it to DirectX since you have it installed. If not, put it to OpenGL.

I tried it and changed Direct3D9 to DirectX, but IT CHANGED ITSELF BACK even after I saved it :c What I can't understand is that it alternates between OpenGL and Direct3D9 so that it's never the same twice on the selection screen, and I never have the option to change it :(

It also wouldn't hurt to make sure yer new laptop can actually handle runnin' online MMOs such as FeralHeart 'n the like, bein' aware that some softwares cannot. Google's a dandy at this.

Yeah, as Vesp said, some computers can't handle because of file sizes, the format of the game setup/the game itself, etc. On Last Moon my laptop couldn't open the setup to download the complete game, so I got stuck with trying to get a FH account. (Which clearly I did.)
You should try checking what file types your computer/laptop can open/use, and how much space is in your C: drive.

The thread with changing the rendering system would be a lot more helpful if I could actually get that far D: I can't even access the login screen, let alone the tools.

I seem to have noticed a lot of people having the same problem. Is anyone planning on making another patch?

So I did what everyone's been saying and now it won't even load the screen to decide the rendering system -_-
