Problem exporting preset
« on: April 06, 2015, 05:28:50 am »
Ok, so I open the preset maker and go to click on the preset that I put the files in and suddenly- Crash. I made my preset using Gimp and I use a Mac. Can anyone help?

--edit--
I tried re-opening them in gimp and making sure there weren't multiple layers. Now when I go to the preset maker the texture won't show up! I'm using this texture: http://keawolf.deviantart.com/art/Updated-Free-Dragon-Preset-Texture-360513096?offset=25#comments

yes the files are .jpg (i had them as .png (because I'm such a failure XD), but that was before the crashing)

The next sentence is true, the last sentence is false.

Possible to make sure your material files have been coded to host the png format?? Or even jpeg. Mind if you show me that? Often if the material file doesn't have the correct coding it can crash.

I just checked and the material file does say .jpg

Does your ingame username have spaces in it? Or even symbols such as ~`???or something along those lines because things like that can often prevent a preset from exporting and usernames such as those can't use presets.  As far as my knowledge can tell. I may be wrong so some one is free to correct me.

Talking about your layers, as far as I know it doesn't really matter how many layers you have while making a preset. The '1 Layer Rule' only applies for maps and terrain masks

Perhaps the files are wrong? Make sure that your preset head, tail, eyes, mane, and body match the preset folder.

For instance, say you were working on preset 3.

If your body parts say preset_4bodypart instead of preset_3bodypart, that will mess it up as well.

Hope this helps and sorry if this was confusing/shabby D:
