Markings
« on: June 04, 2015, 10:26:05 pm »
I recently learned how to make my own markings (and have had great fun doing it), but I've had a wee bit of a problem...

Markings that I haven't yet published have been appearing on other people's characters... in fact, on almost every person I see! My guess is that it's tied to the order of placement, and since I don't have any of the Mass Markings packs that most floofs do, the game replaces a marking that would appear as a marshmallow-marking to me otherwise with one of my own in the same placement that the marking they have is in their list of markings.

The question is, how do I fix this? (Also, does anyone understand my references to "placement"? Cause if not, I mean the order that your markings are in...) I don't like seeing people's characters the wrong way, regardless if it's cool to see my own markings on them or not. XD

It is indeed tied to order placement.

Not much of a way to fix it, I'm afraid.

Sorry there's no real solution.

To be honest... my best advice is to replace default markings you don't see people wear that often. I know exactly what you mean by the "placement" thing because I make markings for others.

But Mass Markings is entirely too large and actually meets the game's marking limit. If you install the Aug 22 Mass Markings pack, I would recommend replacing one of the more horrific markings with your own.

That will however mean that those without your marking will see the horrific one. ^^;

Sadly... it's a bit of a "lose-lose" situation. xD

Ah, well... Guess I'll just deal with the weirdness of seeing my markings on other people. *sigh*

Thanks for the suggestions, though. I'll keep that in mind should I ever download the more popular Mass Markings packs. :)

Sounds like you've replaced files here, or not created own groups for them.

Take a look at this:

Fading Spots;fmarkFadingSpotsBody.png
Fading Stripes;fmarkFadingStripesBody.png
Hellion;fmarkHellionBody.png

These are the default markings for the game, now, when you're adding your own you need to create a unique name for your marking image file and add it here.

For example: I save my image as "MyUniqueMarking.png" into Feral-Heart\\Media\\Textures.
Now I just need to add it the list by naming it as the following:

MyUniqueMarking;fmarkMyUniqueMarkingBody.png

Note: The information in Red is what identifies the marking. fmark = Feline Marking and Body = Body (Basically). Be sure to add .png at the end!

I hope this helps in any way.
