GAME IS NOT STARTING

Every time I start the game its a black empty screen, that after a few moments, a popup will appear saying "FeralHeart.exe has stopped working". This is just as soon as I open it up. I cant even get a loading screen, or to the log in. I tried opening it with Administrator, as I have seen it work for other things, but it would only have the popup seemingly appear faster then it would have if I just regularly opening it. The situation would still be the same. This happened after I exported one of my own maps and, then removed some other map files from my map files. (not sure if that information helps, seeing as I'm pretty sure under normal circumstances this would not happen)

I though about reinstalling, but I am worried if this will damage or, delete some of the items I have downloaded, including maps, meshes, and materials. I just want to know that my stuff will be returned if I try reinstalling the game. Or if there is another option for fixing this. I have already restarted my computer twice and nothing has changed. This is also the first time this has happened.

I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions to fixing this besides reinstalling, or if I could loose any of my stuff through reinstalling if that is my only option.

Hi there! Looks like you're in a bit of a pickle. I have to tell you first though that this isn't the proper place to ask for help concerning the game. This thread should be moved to Game Help.

As for your troubles, I would definitely suggest re-installing the game. If you don't want to lose downloads, maps, meshes, materials, and that sort of stuff, you can put them in separate files and load them back in after the game is re-installed.

Hello, Sunrae117! If you do not want to reinstall, I'd recommend switching your rendering system to start.

First, try opening the ogre.cfg file located in the main Feralheart folder and take a look at the first two lines. It should either say either one of the following:

Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
or
Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]

You could also check in Feralheart\media\particles for any repeated files, normally ending in _0, _1, and so on. If you find any, be sure to delete them and restart the game. Good luck!
