After a long, annoying week, Hooli is back from Rhode Island with a bad sunburn and a lack of sleep.
My vacation was fun at first, but it slowly, slowly, ever so slowly, got worse and worse.
First off, Hooli got a bad case of sun burn after staying out at the lake near the camp we were staying at for a few hours. And then the next day it got so bad that my face ended up swelling up and didn't go down for 2 or so days after. >:I
Pretty crappy first couple of days.. but it was nice, nonetheless.

We had a great time together and I wouldn't take it back for the world <3

On Friday, which was the day before we left, we all went to the zoo and I got some good pictures.

Fun fact, after I took this picture, the giraffe in it charged across the field towards us and slobbered on my jacket. :I

When we were walking out of the zoo a bird flew over and crapped on my arm. Nice, isn't it? I had to walk around the zoo with bird poo on my arm because I didn't have anything to wipe it off with

But luckily I was able to get it off by rubbing it against a rope that connected to the giraffe enclosure (sorry, giraffes!)

The ride home was.. a complete nightmare. Literal nightmare. That's the only word I have to describe it as. While driving about 70 or so miles per hour down the highway going through New York, our truck's dry shaft decided to fall out. Not only that, but the breaks as well as the rear end locked completely, and we almost got slammed into by three or so different cars going about 80 miles per hour. We very much so could have died, and I'm so very thankful that we didn't get injured yesterday.
Anyways, we ended up slowly but surely making it to a parking lot, which just so happened to be a mall parking lot. Hooli had herself a great time while everyone else was freaking out about being stuck in New York. Why was Hooli having a great time, you ask? Well.. it was New York.. and, we were in a mall! A mall in New York, how could it get any better than that?
It was great at first, but then a one hour wait turned into two, two hours into four, and four into six. We waited six hours in New York for my mom's boyfriend's brother to arrive with a car dolley to drag our truck back home with us, because by now we're well over 300 miles from home. Once he arrived it was already around 1 in the morning, and guess what? The truck wouldn't fit on the dolley! Great, right? So, literally out of ideas, we decided we would have to drive the truck home as is, even if it was dangerous to drive in. We couldn't sleep, because the entire time home the truck was making this disgusting grinding sound from underneath, and it was so very loud.
So we went about 300+ miles only going around 40 miles per hour the entire ride home, and didn't get home until 1pm today.

So, long trip, but.. I'm back, nonetheless, and it feels so, so good to be back home safe and sound.

Welcome back from vacation!
I'm so glad that you had a lot of fun but I'm sorry about your sunburn and swelling.
I'm also sorry about the ride home, but it's just good you had a good time for the rest of it!

Wow, talk about worst case scenarios! I'm really sorry about all that went wrong, but I'm glad that even out of the terrible things that happened, you still had fun! Welcome back!
