Rant about idiots thread

I guess the real difference would be 'respect', which judging by the title and some of the comments made, that would be none...

guess I'm really trying to say is why isn't/shouldn't this thread be locked xD

oh I see I can understand why you would want to lock this thread then, but at the same time I feel like getting some stuff off of our chests concerning the actions of others IS integral to keeping us sane when among the FH community. Perhaps a change in title of the thread would suffice? "What you shouldn't do in feral heart" "stuff I hate seeing in FH?" that way it doesn't directly insinuate that offenders are necessarily idiots? I dunno', again though I understand your need to act as mod and potentially lock this thread, and respect it too. I'm not speaking for everyone though- perhaps we could wait for what other contributors to this thread have to say?

  You could change the title to feral heart rant thread.

  The issue is you cant have a rant without someone or something causing the rant. And the rant's will just move elsewhere if this is locked. And there hasn't really been any drama except for the stuff with TheChocolateBunny.

a good and concise point *hugs* I'm afraid that Kyu is probably right in pointing out that if this is locked it will simply crop up elsewhere.  There were also mentionings earlier that the majority of complained-about-offenders- don't even set foot in the forums- which so far seems true and is also why most offendings continue in game. I don't even view the thing with Chocolate bunny as drama- he(or she?) had some valid points that were hard to contend with.

Can you guys answer the following for me

1- Is it okay to have threads around basically calling certain groups of people idiots ?

2- Do you feel having threads like these around are hurting people and giving people a reason to cause drama? or. Do you feel this is a good way for people to express there opinions and get stuff out their chest ?

This seems to be turning into an "Anonymous Bashing" thread.

I think there's a fine line happening here. It's really hard to say if it's downright wrong and should be locked.
Because yeah, bashing people is wrong and publicly humilliating for the people being bashed however, in the case here, no one is naming names, no one is chasing people down in game to further bash them and no one is sending abusing PM messages or well, I hope people aren't. People are just venting their opinions about their not so good experiences while playing the game which just happen to be in regards to some users.

I think it'd be a different story if people were actually naming names and saying ">8C THIS USER NAMED...DID THIS TO ME AND IS BEING ANNOYING." Or trying to make who they were talking about really obvious.

But I really don't know what to do since ranting/venting is good, public humilation is bad but no ones naming names so no one really knows who it exactly is their talking about except who wrote the rant.

I vote for a thread name change too.

It'd be like.. giving a really dirty, nasty person a better, nicer name and expecting them to act like the name says. Get what I'm sayin?

This seems to be turning into an "Anonymous Bashing" thread.

1- Yes.  Because people are idiots.  Now, if people were naming groups (i.e. "Such-and-such pack is the worst!  They're all morons!"), then yes, that would be a problem and probably cause drama.  But most of the people are coming here and just ranting about how idiotic a lot of the FH community acts in-game.  I mean, think about this.  Which is more likely to have their character "buttswing" over yours: A college graduate with a physics degree, or some thirteen year-old who gets all F's in school?  Granted, this may be clumping "idiocy" and "immaturity" together, but the two often go hand-in-hand.  In short, people act like they have no brains, and the victims come here to complain about it.  While it may not change much, at least it helps people get things off their chest.  Oh, and on a side note, I am completely aware that there are some very mature/smart thirteen year-olds here 

2- No.  Again, this is because no one is being specifically mentioned.  If the people being ranted about here actually came on the forums and read the rules, I doubt this thread would exist.  So, between the two scenarios you presented, this thread represents the latter.  As I said before, people are just venting, trying to get all these frustrations off their chest.  Think about the thread closing-- we might get a lot of people blowing up at others in-game because they couldn't get all their frustrations out and sympathize with others who had encountered in-game idiots as well.  No, it's definitely better to have this thread here.

As for that "anonymous bashing" comment, maybe it is, maybe it isn't.  You know that thing they say, that when you're angry at someone, you should just write a letter to them saying everything you feel, and then throw it away?  In a sense, that's what this thread is for some people.  Writing anonymous letters to people who have irritated them (usually knowingly), but not actually confronting them about it and getting into a big fight.

In terms of the title change, I honestly couldn't care less    Venting is venting.

1-  This is more of a rant/vent thingy for me. I think the "idiots" part in this thread is misleading.

2- It can't really cause that much drama, can it? I mean, as long as your not naming the person, they don't know it's them. So I believe it's just a venting thread.
