deviantArt: And it's many updates
« on: August 03, 2015, 10:00:47 pm »
Ahhhh, I needed to find a place to just marvel at this, so if this is the wrong board then please let me know.

I'm very sure most of you who actively use deviantArt, have noticed the sudden change from 'Premium' to 'Core'.

Can we all just appreciate that orange star of wonder
That, beautiful obnoxious orange, against the pale green background
And the apparent lack of things you can do with 'Core'
And the higher price?

Or shall we watch in silence, at that lovely Report ability.
OH WAIT

-small sarcastic rant is both small, and sarcastic along with short-

i don't know nothing about mopeds

have a question? just ask - Rubricae#6972

The eye-sore orange makes me anxious. I do not like it whatsoever, it sticks out way too much.

What's up with the higher price? Why did they need to raise it? Are they not getting enough money?

(P.S. The dA staff do absolutely nothing.)
stinky dog coming through, don't mind me!

Already done my fair share of ranting about this today xD

I don't like it. I don't like it at all. It's bad. I don't understand it.

The orange color I'm pretty sure is just to force your eyes to glance at it since its so bright and out of place. "buy our stuff! look different colors ooooh"

There seems to be less options than premium and just more expensive. Premium was always expensive but it wasn't this bad.

They've just been 'fixing' things that weren't broken in the first place. Rant over.

i never liked their updates.
theyre getting worse.
apparently they stated that they dont care about art theft because taking someones art
and using as your own really isnt theft. and digital isnt real art.

I think there's quite a few of us that don't agree or don't understand why they made these changes, I am one of them.

Orange in all it's glory and all, but I don't see the point of making a tiny dot as a replacement that stands out like a sore thumb. As you guys mentioned it doesn't really blend in well with the site, but neither do I like that it appear to be a lot smaller as well, and the prize bump doesn't really feel justified for what you get indeed.

I cannot help to wonder though what the actual reasons of this change might be, because this is a plain re-brand of the premium membership it used to have and I do believe most sees this too. There seems to be a lot of flack given from this, and some out there on DA has really taken it to the next level, but personally I think it's not the end of the world, but it's probably not a step in the right direction from what it appears from the user responses.

Feels like I'm missing something in this though that might make me understand the reason of change better, because right now I really don't see the point.

Ahhh... dA, you and your high prices. I must say though, it is not nearly as high as the prices of membership for Animal Jam, which is a game geared towards children, poor parents. This doesn't justify the price raise though! Many artists barely have enough money to put food on the table, and their main source of income comes from DeviantArt. This increased price range will make it very difficult for artists to make a living. For my account, it's not such a big deal, because I don't plan on getting membership anytime soon, but for others this is devastating.

Oh the color, that bright orange really does stick out, but it does hurt ones eyes, and give headaches if stared at for too long. Although there was probably a psychological reason why, as the color red makes you want to buy, or want more. This is why various products are packaged with the color red. This was an evolutionary advantage, but I won't get into that. Either way, DeviantArt failed to use this to their advantage. It does not fit in with the dA theme at all, and would not fit in at all in a color pallet from an artist's perspective. It's really a horrid choice.

Anyway, that's "mah bitcoin".
