Any Idea?

Hey guys, so I was re-downloading things from Deviant Art as I had some issues with Feral Heart (It's fixed now), and I noticed some themes or skins (also known as GUI) that people have created. I was wondering how I could make my own?

Ah, I believe what ye need to do is first get a good /free/ art program for y'er computer. {I tend to use GIMP.} Next, find the original background textures (so ye can use them as a template.) They should be found in the media's texture folder. Once ye 'ave that, start working on a new layer. Just keep it around the same size and shape as the original that ye are using as a template and ye should be good. I'd recommend ye make y'er new skin somewhat transparent.

Once finished, ye will 'ave to export it and upload it into the texture folder where he found the original. Make sure it has the same name as the old one so the FH coding recognizes it as y'er new skin. Same with the buttons if ye want to completely revamp the style.

Is it possible for you to make a youtube video? All this seems confusing .

Ah, ye can do that by editing the picture on GIMP. Just create a new layer, fill that layer with the desired color, and then going to the layer options (right hand corner of y'er screen there should be a layer tab) and clicking the little upside down triangle. There are quite a few options, so just sift through them to see which one works best with the color ye 'ave chosen.

This may sound confusing, so if ye want, I can provide screenies. ;3

EDIT: Unfortunatley, I do not 'ave a screen recorder (or whatever he would call it) to record m'screen. :C Terrribly sorry floof.

Alright, will do! I do hope ye won't mind but I can't post them until after work. (I'm on m'phone right now.) I can't get to GIMP n'all that good stuff until I finish, which should be around 3:30 m'time (about 3 hours from now.) When I finish, I shall get those to ye ASAP!

As ye can see, I already 'ave changed mine.


Of course, we shall just use the original for the demonstration.


With y'er new layer, pick the desired color ye wish to change it to. Then choose one of the options found under this lil' button.


I chose the option, Addition, but this might not work for the color ye chose.


Tadaa! Now the title is blue. Hope this helped ye deary.



For making a new skin, here is this:

I just take the original box texture.


And then add a new layer and design to y'er hearts desire. Export it, then replace the old one.
