A small question about Map Maker (SOLVED)
« on: September 16, 2015, 01:04:56 am »
Sitting in an old map I had made a while ago and just recently dug up from my storage space for either later use or just to get them out of the way to make room for new maps, I noticed that sometimes the trees (which are fairly large) seem to disappear when I get a certain distance away from them, same with a few other meshes I had used. Is there a way to fix this? I already tried to see if it was my game's View Distance but that is turned up all the way to the right and there's no change. Would checking the "Is Large" checkbox when in Map Maker make a difference? It just bugs me a little that you don't see the meshes until you get close enough to them sometimes, and I'd love to know the secret to preventing this if there is one. Thanks floofs!

This might be a normal glitch dearie ^^' FeralHeart is full of little issues like this. Otherwise, I'm sure others will rush here and be more helpful than me.

I agree with Echo.
When I used to make maps myself I would also bump into this little glitch. If I am not mistaken it is because it is due to the size of your map, and how much room there is in it. It's a small thing. As long as you run up to the object and are able to run on top of it or are stopped by it I think everything should be okay. Though if there is a fix for it I am sure other users might have the solution my dear. ^^

Indeed checking the "Is Large" option should make that issue stop :)

Thanks for the suggestions and help floofs! Appreciate it!

And thanks LordSuragaha, I tested this with the Watermill Map (which I have edited to give it a fall theme look until winter) and the tree meshes I used for it use to disappear randomly due to distance, but now that I used the "Is Large" option they seem to remain and don't disappear at all :). Now I gotta do it to the map I originally spoke about, which could be a long process given its a big map AND there are technically three of the same map because two are seasonal (fall and winter). But I'll deal. I'm rambling again aren't I?

I believe this issue has been solved, so you may lock the topic. I'll post a new one if I run into more troubles.
