Preset Issues
« on: December 04, 2015, 12:36:28 am »
This has been a recent issue, let me just type it out step-by-step, so it's not as much confusing.  ;)

When I upload one of my presets to mediafire, I ask my friends if they would like to download it. Of course, they say yes. xD So they go on and download it, as they have many times before, and it worked.

But, for quite some bit now, when my friends download my preset, only at least 2 cannot see it, after they've downloaded many before and could see them.  >:(

Now, I came up with a solution with one of them, all I had to do was logout, take it off, login, let them see my default markings, logout, put it back on.

I tried doing that with another friend recently, they had actually followed my instructions (with pictures) on my pack forum. When they had done that (note: this is their first time but they done it correctly, they told me) they logged out, then logged back in. I did do that trick like with my other friend, but it didn't work this time.  :'(

So, could this be a glitch? We've done everything correctly, I know it. Any solutions?  :-\  :'(  >:(

Ah, make sure that they 'ave it in the "presets" folder and not the "My_Presets" folder. Also, ask her to read off the file's name.

If y'er username was HowlWolf, the exported preset file would be named "HowlWolf_{insert preset folder number}.fhp". Sometimes, though, when downloading, ye get copies like "HowlWolf_{insert preset folder number} (1).fhp". Notice the (1)? That means 'tis a copy, which should be renamed, deleting the space b'tween the file type and the (1).

Also, make sure that ye didn't rename the file when ye uploaded it to Mediafire. If ye changed the name of the file from y'er username, then the preset won't show. Ye can fix this by 'aving y'er friend add in y'er username along with "_#" {# should be changed to whatever folder the actual preset files were placed in.}

Other than that, 'tis all I can think of at the moment. Let me know if any of these solutions help ye out. If not, I shall try to brainstorm on other possibilities.

Tmw you planned a ten minute nap but instead took a whole year.

Actually, I've tried all those. xD But, when I asked my friend if they renamed it, they said they renamed it to Preset. xD I told them to redownload it, and then remove the (#) if any. Someone can lock this thread now. :D
