Feral-Heart.exe has stopped working.

Alright, so, I finally got a new laptop yesterday and today I installed FH. Now, I expected to be able to play immediately after it was done installing, but evidently that was not the case. When I open up Feral Heart it goes well /at first./ Then it crashes. I'm not sure what the problem is, and any help would be much appreciated.

Also, no, I haven't downloaded any extras, yet. (Maps, presets, etc..)

Odd. Have you tried re-installing it again just to be sure?

Sometimes when I load up FH mine crashes if I'm clicking it to make it load up faster. Do you just let it sit there and give it a minute? I have the issue of it crashing occasionally over and over again then it's fine.

Hello, there. I'm redirecting you to this thread: FeralHeart Crashing

So:

• Try changing your rendering system between OpenGL & Direct3D9
• You might be missing/have doubles of some important files, so just re-install the game.
• You might have double particles, or other particle problems.

- You should also check for doubles in the object files.

What you have to do is go to your particle folder (by default: My Computer -> C: Drive -> Feralheart -> Media -> Particles).

Look at your .particle files. See any with a _0, _1, etc. behind their name? If so, delete them. These are copys automatically made (for some wierd reason I don't know yet - maybe a glitch?) and therefore are uneeded. Be sure you don't delete your main stuff tho, don't kill the original particle template.

• Sometimes, Feralheart is just downright laggy. This will cause you to crash before entering a server. It helps if you:
  1. Turn the view distance down to Zero
  2. Turn off water reflection
  3. Wait a minute of so after crashing
  
  
• You can also try going into the game's options through the main menu and then go into video settings.
  From there you can:
  Set Anti Aliasing to 0
  Turn Water Reflection off
  Set View Distance to 0
  
  Hope your problem will be solved soon! Let me know if the problem still occurs.

I tried reinstalling it using a different installer, and failed.

I also check the objects and particles, and didn't see anything that peaked my interest. I think the only thing that stuck out was fhobjects.fho and fhobjects2.fho

Does the problem still occur? Have you tried everything I listed above?
You can also try running FeralHeart as administrator.

Hmm, I'm not too positive if there should be a fhobjects2.fho or not.

Try removing it from y'er FH files and running the game 'gain. If it continues to give ye issues, just place the file back where ye found it.

Also, where is y'er FH folder located? Make sure 'tis located directly in y'er drive and not in any other folders.

The problem does still occur, yes. And I tried what you listed. I'm going to try running it as an administrator when I reinstall it again. And if that doesn't work, then I dunno.

@Enoki: It's located in my drive. And I'll also try removing that fhobjects2.fho.
