Map Crashes
« on: March 24, 2016, 08:54:13 pm »
I just recently joined a roleplay, and I cannot get into their map, when others can. u w u FeralHeart crashes, and not because of it lagging me out or bad tokens, or invalid logins.

I replaced everything in the exports folder, I've tried putting the exports in my_objects, I've tried deleting the weather files, there are no particle duplicates, or anything, and I'm a little bit bummed that I can't roleplay with my friend.

help, quickly?

How many times have you tried getting in, so far? Sometimes the game crashes on the first few tries, but then eventually lets you in

Try deleting the sky file as well

Ye should never delete the weather files. FH will crash once it tries to play the weather and the file f'er it isn't there. Also, don't put the export files in separate folders, they should always go into exports.

What may have happened is a corrupted file upon downloading the map pack. Try redownloading the map pack and installing the new files to FH. Also go through y'er files and erase the ones ye placed separately, just not to confuse y'erself or FH-which may possibly still read those files.

How much space do ye 'ave on y'er computer? If ye got a lot of games and whatnot, it may be hampering y'er gameplay with FH. Maps take up a lot of space if they're well done in details. Map packs can get up there in the MB. If ye see that y'er low on space, try getting rid of a few games that y'er no longer interested in.

If y'er good on space, check y'er computer's age. If y'er 'pooter is up there in years, it may not be able to handle the extra files.

I'll keep brainstorming on what may be causing this.

I have at least 15 GB in the location where FeralHeart is (Which is C:/),
and 255 GB in (D:/) which is where I have a couple games and applications stored.

My computer is Windows 8.1, fairly new, as I have purchased it within the last 1-2 years.

Also,

I had another member in the roleplay I joined suggest I uninstalled FeralHeart, because it could "corrupt of time" but, I'm not too interested in the idea of having to redownload masses of meshes, retextures, and edited materials.

Try moving some files from C:/ to D:/. FH must say in C:/ though.

Ask the creator of the map if they've updated the download recently. It may be that the older members have the download that has all the r'quired files. The newer download may be missing some important files.

And if it comes down to having to redownload FH, just take any mod files and preset files you have and make backup copies so that you don't have to go find those downloads again, then uninstall FH and delete the file (that includes deleting it from your recycle bin just to be on the absolute safe side).
