Help! (Map Music)
« on: April 03, 2016, 05:22:54 am »
I've made several maps with successful music files. But my most current is not working out like the rest. I'm very confused and very frustrated. Here's the problem:
I've copied and pasted the music into my fh>media>sounds folder. Then I opened the music.cfg file and typed out the title and name
[Example]
media/sounds/Example.mp3
Saved. Then loaded fh, entered map maker, typed Example.mp3 into the Music (Group or Filename) part of the maker, saved and tested. Nothing. I'm very confused since I've made successful maps before and this was only a problem when I first started. My map name is Medieval, the music is
[Medieval]
media/sounds/Medieval1.mp3
(There's three files) did I do something incorrect!? Please help! This is a secondary map for a current pack.

Hmmm, have you tried to put them in your music folder instead of the sounds folder?

If it's map music, then in your music.cfg file should read "media/music/Medieval1.mp3

You have it written as sounds where it should say music~
Also, your music files should be placed in the music folder of your media, not the sounds.

You are amazing <3

I'll try that way again. It usually works when I place it in sounds. But I'll try that.

It still didn't work. I have no idea what's going on. I switched everything to music, removed it from sounds and still no music was playing... :'(

Maybe the music file is corrupted a bit and is not playing in the map maker. Have you tried deleting the music and redownloaded it altogether? Maybe there's something wrong with that specific file since it started to not work now. Maybe that'll do the trick?

Ah! The issue is in the way y'er typing it. F'er example...

[AkumuRealm]
media/music/Drama.mp3
media/sounds/Firefly.mp3

What ye need to type in to the music group/file name "AkumuRealm" or whatever ye 'ave in the brackets. Note that I used both sounds and music folders. It doesn't matter which on ye use, as long as ye put the correct folder name in the coding and specify to y'er members or friends who download the map where each MP3 file goes. Ye can put as many MP3 files in y'er map playlist. Hope this helps and g'luck with the map!

Tmw you planned a ten minute nap but instead took a whole year.

That was the problem! Thank you! This is the first multiple music map I've had in a while. My other maps all had one, one hour long music group/file. This one has two one hours and a three hour. All Celtic/Medieval music to fit the map. Thank you so much! <3 hope to see you in game!  :D :-*
