Custom map files question
« on: April 13, 2016, 10:21:28 pm »
I recently posted a map onto the public forum
http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=55867.msg762080#msg762080

providing a link to the map file that is exported by the ingame program. I can access my own map through the cape of worlds, however someone ingame who wanted to enter told me that it would crash their game if they went through. I frantically took down the download link my thread and put up a new download with /all/ associated files to the map. While I tried to find what files need to be provided by downloading other maps in the same subforum. Unfortunately they have so many custom files associated I couldn't find a pattern of what to /actually/ provide in the download link.

Can someone clarify it for me?

When you export a map, write down the file names of every file the game says. Collect all of those files (as well as maybe any texture, music, etc files) and put them in a download

If people are having issues, tell them to delete any duplicate particles (particles ending in _0, _1, etc) and maybe even the sky/weather files

Alright. I figured it all out then, thank you. One more inquiry though, since the names of the exported files are generic things like "MyTrees" wouldn't having more than one custom map in exports overlap them and cause issues?

Sometimes it can maybe if you edit the meshes in the object maker (like for example, you make the oak trees a lot smaller than they are by default), and sometimes it can be derpy for others. But if you simply use those meshes, they should be fine
