Map Making deleting fog
« on: August 02, 2016, 10:39:32 pm »
Hello~

I'm having some issues. I put a couple fog particles in my map, but I started to realize I don't need so many in the map, plus they add a little lag which I would like to fix. I was wondering if there is any way to find the base part where I can click and delete it. I would really like to avoid restarting the map since I got pretty far. If there is no way to delete the fog it's okay and I can live with it.

Thanks!

In mapmaker, you should be able to select the fog particle, and when the a box shows up around it, just hit your Del key and that should fix the issue. :)

Ah, if 'tis the particle I'm thinking of then I know y'er pain. That one fog particle is a real tough one to erase. Try looking at it from above and click as close to the center as ye can. Ye may be there a while. ;u;

Tmw you planned a ten minute nap but instead took a whole year.

There is actually an easier way of doing this, so allow me to explain with pictures (click on the links).

First of all, what you'll want to do, is open your file explorer and go to your FeralHeart folder. Go to media, and then click on terrains.

Second, find the name of the map you're working on (the name you'll be looking for won't be the map's display name unless that and the file name are the same), and inside you'll see a bunch of Word files labeled with the map's name and things like Terrains, Water, Gates etc. Click on the one that says Objects.

Once that Word file opens (or if asked, select Word or whatever word processing program you use to open the file- DO NOT USE NOTEPAD!), you'll see a list of all the objects you have put into that map which will look similar to below.

Now what you have to do is find where the Fog object appears (for example [MyStuff/Fog]) and delete however many you want to. Normally each object begins on every new paragraph line so do be careful, but it shouldn't be too easy to mess up either. This will be an easier process than sitting there in Map Maker trying to grab the object to delete it.

If you want to see an actual walkthrough of what I've explained above, check out this video---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfTBPlFQYUs

Good luck to ya floof!

I suppose I should of added that you must save the document after you've made your changes but I'll assume you did just that and that it all worked out by the sounds of your reply. Forgetful mind is forgetful. You're welcome floof ^u^.
