Like heck do I love Spore!
But in agreement with Sura, it gets sort of boring once you enter the Civilisation and Space Stage, it get's repetitive at that point.
Spore may be good, but I think it's a much better experience once you buy the Galactic Adventures pack. GA adds in a lot more detail and allowed me to create lore for my own species (I've kept it all these years, hue) by making my own terrestrial quests and dialogues between characters.
There are also a handful of mods from the community (I had 14 individual mods and 121 new items and parts installed that time) that expanded my creativity and made Space a little less boring.
