Map downloading fail
« on: April 07, 2017, 04:25:56 pm »
I had downloaded the old maps, and when i tried to enter it again (done before many times) It suddenly didn't work anymore!
What i did before trying to get there, i tried to download eye masks. Replacing and such. I hope this hasn't made me loose these maps! But onto my main problem...
I need to get my character out of there, but its impossible since i cannot get onto it anymore!
There was a page i could find before to reset the home. Is it still able to be reached?

You can reset your character's home and get them there via the User Panel.

Though, I highly doubt you being unable to enter the maps you have downloaded is due to your eye mask replacements.

However, if your game is crashing at all, this could be due to a mistake that could have occurred during your time attempting to replace the eye masks. In this case, I suggest going to Local Disk (C:) \\ FeralHeart \\ Media \\ Textures  and deleting the masks folder. Once that is done, go here and download the textures folder here, listed under 'Media folder sub-folders'. Once that is downloaded, open it up and copy the masks folder and place it into Local Disk (C:) \\ FeralHeart \\ Media \\ Textures. This will re-fresh that folder, and all default FeralHeart masks will be there.

Otherwise, maybe you should try deleting the contents you downloaded for the map, and re-install it again to see if it will work for you. I should maybe suggest you go into Local Disk (C:) \\ FeralHeart \\ Media \\ Particles and deleting anything that ends in _0, _1, _2 etc... Then re-launch the game.

I see no reason why there should be anything in Particles. Nothing else than from the download of feral heart.
But now, i know the failure is due to one of the maps i've downloaded. I cannot get to Cherika Valley either..
What could be the mistake? I only see that some of the replacements required must be to blame. How can i fix that? I don't know which one collides and causes the problem X(

The public maps not loading up is a separate issue, Cherika and some other maps aren't loading for anyone else either

You said this was an issue when you downloaded the old maps, correct? Is it by chance this pack by Kwibjo?

As of recent there have been issues in connecting to those maps. I couldn't get into them either. But, as of today, Kwibjo seemed to have fixed the issue and placed a new download for them. See if you can redownload and reinstall those and connect into them without issue. Make sure you do a full uninstall of the previous versions of the map pack.

If this is in fact an issue with the public maps, you are not alone as sometimes it's just a connectivity problem and passes with time. Bawfle explained how to get your characters back to Lonely Cave, or, their home location. This should be useful for both public map connectivity issue and for the issues you seem to have experienced with the old map pack.

I don't dare to remove anything from the old maps. I don't know how to do it, im afraid i'll ruin something in the procces.
A thing im way too good at.. When i never try it..
But it does seem reasonable..
I don't remember who i downloaded the old maps from, but it sure wasn't this one.. But, despite different people having the old maps and they're at different links... It sure doesn't matter which one i download? I'd still see the others who have downloaded the old maps through another link than myself?

That's really strange. I"m not aware of any other public old map download links. But either way it shouldn't matter. The old maps should be easy to remove. All of the .fhm files should be in exports if the old maps were a download you found and placed in your FeralHeart folder.

Just to make sure, are you sure you have the 1.15 update for FeralHeart? Are your characters in some sort of black void when you log into them?
