Server Won't Connect, Help!

I don't play FH a lot, but from time to time I'll pop back in for a quick roleplay. Last time I tried was a few months ago (not sure exactly), and I had the same problem I'm about to describe. But back then, I just shrugged and decided not to play the game then.

Now I'm like, "okaaay, maybe I should figure this out...."

So, I pick my character, and they spawn in the Lonely Cave-- or, uh, the default home place. Everything is just fine, until I go through the two portals to the plains area (the portal in the water, then when you get to the cliffy place, you turn around and go through another portal... forget what it's called, but I hope that's not too confusing) The screen stays locked on the loading picture, and doesn't do anything else. It'll pop up once saying "can't connect to server; RETRY or CANCEL" and hitting RETRY doesn't help. I'm too impatient to wait forever to see if a second message asking the same thing will pop up, or if I give it thirty minutes it'll finally work.

Since the same place had the same problem as last time I tried to play, I just shrugged and ran into where the snowy biome is, wondering if it would work or not there. Same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to have the Play Game tab open at all times while you play

I would recommend sending your characters home through the User Panel. You have to sign in and then there will be an option to "Go Home". Do that for your character/s of choice. Then try to enter the Grounds through the Seaside Grove portal.

I am having this same problem. I have the login page open and can get to the character select page just fine. Last night I selected one of my characters and it wouldn't load in (I believe its home is set to Sky's Rim). So I tried another character; its home is set to the default Lonely Cave. It loaded quickly with no issues. I went through the portal to Cape of Distant Worlds, still fine, but when I went to leave and go back through the Lonely Cave it got stuck on the loading screen. It sat for a while before popping up the message "Failed to connect to map server. Retry?" with the options of "OK" and "Cancel". When I push "OK" it sits forever on the loading screen until I close the game. I tried this on a few more characters, the only  area I am able to start in being Lonely Cave and I can only go into the Cape, but not come back. I tried clicking the "Go Home" button after login in on the site, but once the character gets stuck loading it wont seem to go back. When I quit the game and sign back in I cant use any of the characters that froze on the loading screen, it just pops up the same  message. The only thing I haven't tried is resetting home as I don't want to lose my spawn at Sky's Rim (or other time consuming areas to get to) or reinstalling the game. I have no downloaded maps or presets. I tried again today hoping it was just a temporary problem, but its still not connecting.

It would be best if you made your own thread next time floof, so we know you need help and you're not trying to help this person out. ^^

As for your issue, it sounds like you haven't updated to FeralHeart 1.15. You need to download it >here< And when you're done and have it installed, go to your userpanel and reset all your character's home and send them there. That will put your characters in all the new maps. ^^

  You may just need to download the new update as you talk about Sky's Rim.

After you do what Azura suggested, do what I suggested above for the other user and go to the User Panel, sign in and select "Reset Home" then "Go Home" for all of your characters. Otherwise they will be stuck in the previous maps.
