There is no other way to install the game other than through that exe. What problem are you having with the .exe file?

windows defender blocks all exes and i can't get past it :/

Click here and it will tell you how to disable Windows Defender. You can disable it temporarily whilst you install the game.

You can disable Windows Defender and reenable it after you successfully installed. It's quite easy to do. I would recommend talking to them, they'd most likely understand.
