Realistic Texture?
« on: June 08, 2017, 02:31:42 am »
What are some canine/feline textures you'd recommend to make the in-game characters look better? I've heard of Tearless' but I can't seem to find a working link for that one.

I'm pretty sure the links on Tearless's main thread work, I just tried them out myself and they worked just fine. Can you use dropbox downloads, or do you usually have issues with those?
I'll link the main thread to you, just in case.

Ah, thank you. I guess I just could never find the main thread.

I would definitely check out Deviantart for some textures as a lot of the preview images of the ones on the forums haven't been updated to not have a TinyPic url, therefore they are not able to be viewed on the forums properly.

Anyway, here are some links that I have in my collection that might be of interest to you:

You can look in the More from Deviantart section on the right when you follow these links and find some other ones out there ^^
I'm actually not looking for preset textures, but for textures that will change the look of existing characters, and I can't quite do that with most of those. Thank you, though!

You can actually use preset textures to change in game models!

You just have to rename the files and put them into the correct folder, not sure how to do it though.

If I find out I'll edit this post and tell ya!

Okay, I'm gonna try and tell you how to do it, let's see how this goes.

Firstly you need to download the texture you want, just going to use a random one Morgra offered.

Once you have it downloaded you need to open the file, and rename the pictures to the following:
(but if you're changing canine textures then the f needs to be a c, also make sure that you do a capital S on Shade, otherwise it won't work.)

After that you need to go into the Main FeralHeart Folder>Media>Textures

Next, you need to drag the renamed textures into the Textures folder that you just went into.

Also make sure that you've deleted any excess duplicate textures that begin with:
fbodyShade , fheadShade , ftailShade
Otherwise it WILL NOT work!

After all the steps, your new models should look like this:

Then, you should have successfully got the textures into FeralHeart! If not then try going through the instructions again
