My Custom Height Map

For tutorial wise and just making sure you did your steps right if you did use gimp. (I find gimp easiest.) I used this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW06Rat6lq0 and I've never had a problem with height maps.

I made the Terrain in medibang paint. I then went over to GIMP and removed the alpha channel, turned it to greyscale, and flattened the image. Then I exported it to png.

When you made the image, did you make sure the image size was 513 pixels x 513 pixels?

Well, I'm not very sure about the paint program you used since I've only used GIMP to make maps, and I've just followed the video I linked to a T, And it works perfectly. I've also never had to turn off an 'Alpha channel." Or at least it's not in the steps to making a height map on GIMP. So I'm not to sure about that either.
Maybe it's a computer issue possibly? What type of computer do you have? Laptop? Gaming PC/Laptop?
If the computer isn't the issue maybe just remake it over in gimp and follow that video I gave you?

The thing is, I spent quite a few hours making and perfecting this heightmap and I don't want it to go to waste. I have a desktop computer.

I'm not very sure then. ;w; It could be possibly be a computer issue to as far as the file could have possibly become corrupted? Maybe try opening the file back up and gimp and just follow the steps in the video until everything matches up? Because Like i said before I'm not to sure about the alpha channel thing?]

I suggest you remake a height map fully on GIMP to test and  be sure to have all of this.
-513x513
-Grayscale
-No alpha channel
-One, flattened layer
-.png
-No spaces
-mapnameTerrain.png is the name

You can change the name but since it's only a test, I suggest you calling it like that.
Be sure that you do all of this as I had the same problem as you and it seems I forgotten to do one even when I thought I did it.
