The 'Bonfire' in Bonfire Island
« on: May 07, 2011, 04:25:23 pm »
So, shouldn't Bonfire Island have a bonfire? It would make much more sense to me since 'bonfire' is actually in the name of the map. Maybe there should be like a giant bonfire in the middle of the map? I think this would be a good idea because it compleats that map name. Yeah this is really short but there isn't really anything to explain... So do you like it?

Lol, actually, when I got onto Bonfire for the first time I was like "Wait.. there's no bonfire here, why is it called Bonfire Island?" xD I was guessing like, they would have a huge bonfire or a few small ones lining the map or something.

I think it's called "Bonfire" because bonfires are traditional meeting spaces, and it is the default map so everyone "meets" there.

Sadly, I just realized this right now. D:
But I agree with Sameth. Most likely because of it being the default map. Haha.

I was wondering this too, but does the actual bonfire object lag a lot because of movement? I don't know; I'm horrible with objects and meshes. But perhaps that's the reason, because of lag? Because I already have enough lag there. >.<

There was an actual bonfire in the original bonfire island of impressive title, but it would create a loooooooooooot of lag since there are so many more people in Feral Heart, and I'm betting thats why they removed it.

The only reason that I can see as to why the bonfire isn't in FH is because Kov doesn't want anything man made in FH. A lion wouldn't be able to put together a bonfire so that's why there is no bonfire in the official map. Kov wanted all official maps to be natural with no buildings or structures, or anything man made.

^Well if that's true, then what about the Temple of Dreams? XD

Anyway, yeah the most likely reason is that it would create a LOT of lag |D Would still be neat though....

Think less about the "Temple" and more about the "Dreams" part.

there are alot of structures that still even puzzle us today that we still agrue if man made it or something else

I think it's called "Bonfire" because bonfires are traditional meeting spaces, and it is the default map so everyone "meets" there.

...Now it makes much more sense!

I imagine people would make marshmellow characters and sit inside the bonfire (I would!) if one were added. Or outright avoid it to escape it's lag.
